Dr. Ivan Gilberto Melendez, MD

Does not answer pages in the hospital. Has to be escalated. When he answers is rude and refuses to give orders to nurses.

WORST Dr, that I've ever had as a physician in the ER or in my 17 yrs of working in the medical field...my mom was in hospital last yr & after a few days in hospital went AMA & she too has worked in medical field so I was astonished she went AMA..well she said she the worst Dr, that he was rude & trite..she had been diagnosed & found with a small brain tumor & she was dizzy, weakness, falling & having difficulty walking..she said she had been asking what was the treatment plan & telling him her ailments...she said that it was the 1st day she had gotten up out of bed with therapy & he saw her in hallway & declared.. because you are overweight, lose weight & you will not be having those issues ?? my mom has been severely obese for her whole adult life Well, I had heard of this infamous Dr & I'm in the ER--for 2 days cause they were packed & in divert & crisis status..took him 2 days to see me, did not receive any treatment..his Nurse Practioner came in & ordered me Lovenox & I was… there for altered mental status, severe pain to an extremity, severe anxiety with a panic attack, swelling, reddness to extremity, increased depression as facing a possibility of an amputation...he came in 2 days later as soon as had gotten a room, as nurse was taking my temperature & says: "ohh no, your not sick", does not even let me talk or voice what's going on, proceeds to discharge me home with no treatment...I end up back at another ER cause didn't want him treating me..well he was at this ER & saw me as he was walking out & he ran..yes RAN back inside yelling that who was the Dr assigned to me, that he had just seen me in the other hospital & discharged me & I firmly believe his pestering the Dr alteted my care & treatment...the ER doctor did at least order medicine for pain, I usually see a pain doctor and use Fentanyl & Narco but I wasn't on them cuz my pain issues had been resolved but I was in ER & that was a change.well I get discharged from ER AGAIN & I know the doctor had changed his treatment course for me after Dr. Melendez made that dramatic, theatrical spectible...well sure enough the following week I was admitted to the hospital for 3 weeks... This Dr is the WORST, has a TOTAL God Complex, his snarky comments & obnoxiously unnecessary bravado are NOT conducive for anyone seeking competent care where you & the physician develop a rapport to tackle your health issues...when we're sick, as a patient, it's a horrible place to be & do not need ANY medical professional acting, berating & negatively impacting our care....unfortunately, due to my illness, I get sick often & I have enough obstacles I'm facing due to my illness...our Dr's, most of all should listen to what's going on as opposed to just looking at labs & diagnostic tests...my pain was so out of control that it impacted me not only medically but emotionally & I just wanted to die...I put it & cast it to God that I NEVER run into this doctor ever

He is the most disrespectful Dr. I have ever met. He has no manners and is rude and insulting to his colleagues. He has the audacity to say any monkey can perform the surgery...... what kind of Dr. says this?

Ivan Melendez is such a great doctor and attends to your needs as quick as posiible.

He is lazy and I'm extremely concerned about the welfare of his patients.

Amazing. Just Amazing. He's so smart and handsome i loved him, i would definitely recommend him 100%

ARROGANT, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE, HIS INTEREST IS MONEY AND NOT PATIENT CARE
