Dr. Ivy Jayne Barnard, DO

Yes, she did leave town rather unexpectedly and I have not been able to obtain my records or my entire families records since she was our family doctor. Yes, there is a long wait, but it's true that she takes her time to answer all of your questions.

She left town 5 years ago (2013) taking medical records of many with her. She resurfaced in NC but left by 2015. None of us have gotten our records back. There was a rumor she left due to the fact she had terminal cancer. I sincerely hope that as a loved one of mine died due to a terminal cancer she misdiagnosed (an allergy), that if this was not true, it was started by someone else, not her. If you are a current patient of hers and you have a health concern, please push it with her. Better yet, find a new doctor. I don’t want other families to go through what we have gone through.

Upside: she takes her time to discuss your concerns and is very knowledgeable and caring. She is gifted at her profession. Downside: She does not follow-up with test results which can potentially be fatal.

NEVER go to this doctor. They NEVER returned phone calls, made me wait between 30-50 minutes to get in and they are VERY unprofessional. They never called back after blood work was done and other things such as X-Rays and Ultrasounds. I kept on calling and never received calls back. I decided to switch doctors and it took me two weeks to get my health records and the only reason I got them was because I had to leave a message yelling at them to get my records. Two minutes later the fax started up and my records came through. TERRIBLE PRACTICE!! DON'T GO TO HER.

Dr. Barnard is a very caring , personable doctor. She takes her time and fully explains what needs to be said. Her office staff is always just as pleasant as she. I would recommend her to everyone.
