Now before I go into this, I want to say Lisa Gatwood the PA at Hattiesburg Clinic is phenomenal...Listens, and actually cares about her patients. With that said, here we go - I have been going to the Clinic for several months now, have had a few appointments but my last appointment (that never happened) went like this....I called to get another Zpac for a sinus infection a few weeks ago, I was told that I had to check in via phone and stay in my car until it was time for me to go in....all fine and good understanding they were taking precautions due to COVID, however it didn't stop there, I was told that I MUST take a COVID test prior to being seen....I firmly believe in "my body my choice" so I politely declined and they declined to treat me because of that choice. Then I received a phone call stating the most ridiculous claim I've heard since COVID started, "OSHA has a new guideline stating that a covid test is required prior to being seen." The woman, I think her name is… Melissa, then stated that she was looking at the policy but when I asked her to send me a copy, she became very defensive telling me "Go look it up yourself on google" I told her to cancel my appointments and remove me from the patient list. .....Doesn't stop there - Friday I received a Certified letter from a J.D. Dumas M.D. stating the following: Dear Mr. Senge: I regret to inform you that I must withdraw as your healthcare physician due to your inappropriate behavior and non-compliance with treatment (Failure to take a covid test) NOW MIND YOU I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SEEN BY THIS DOCTOR! - Since your condition requires medical attention (how would they know what my condition is if they refused to see me) letter continues - I suggest you place yourself under the care of another physician without delay. Neither I nor Oak Grove Family Clinic, can be responsible for your medical care. Now, a part of the hippocratic oath says "FIRST DO NO HARM" and Patients have the right to refuse any medication, treatment or procedure without fear of refusal to provide care. So in closing, how can any Medical Professional deny treatment to a patient in need? They see patients that have HIV, TB and even Ebolia, medical professionals know how to use the proper PPE to protect themselves and others, this COVID shouldn't be an except to the rule.

I have been seeing Dr. Dumas for many years. Very cordial, explains all problems and medications to the fullest extent and he has a great personality! I would recommend him to anyone needing a family physician.

Dr. Dumas is a very knowledgeable doctor. He has genuine care for his patients. He listens to you talk about your issues and concerns and tries to get a solution. Great man great doctor! Robert Young
