Dr. J Peter Zegarra, MD

I went to see this doctor for chronic hemorrhoid issues. His overall demeanor reminded me of the medical professionals at the military processing center in Oakland (MEPS). He was very terse and barked out orders. I had the feeling that my presence annoyed him greatly. He diagnosed me before the examination, and said that it didn't require surgery. I have no idea if it is possible to purposefully make a sigmoidoscopy painful or more painful than normal...but I feel like he did.

Before you read this comment, I encourage you to look a little further into Dr. Zegarras history because you will find that he was reported to the CA Medical Board for telling a patient to perform oral s*x on her husband. That being said, this is by the far the most unprofessional, rude, inappropriate and cold hearted doctor I have ever been around. I brought my elderly grandmother to an appointment with him and he brushed off every single one of her symptoms and acted like we were stupid for even coming to see him. He rolled his eyes, made inappropriate remarks, and during the actually physical exam caused her so much pain that she ended up screaming and crying. After he stopped, there was no compassion or apology. Instead he got agitated and said it was her fault that he couldn't help her. I never left a doctor a review before but I am not kidding when I tell you that I have no idea how this man still has his license. Please go any where else but here.

That being said, I brought my grandmother here recently to get checked out and I wish we never met him. He is one of the most hard hearted, rudest, disrespectful, unprofessional and inappropriate doctors I have ever been around. I have no idea how he still has his license. He brushed off every single symptom and issue we brought up in regards to my grandmothers health, cracked inappropriate jokes, rolled his eyes, blamed her for her problems and during the actual physical exam he caused her so much pain she cried and yelled. When he finally stopped, instead of having a drop of sympathy or apologizing, he got extremely agitated and told her it was her fault that he couldn't help her. HORRIBLE. This is NOT a doctor who… cares about his patients. Please put this man out of business and find some one who actually cares about your health.

Dr. Z is absolutely the best doctor I have ever met. He works hard to make patients life better. Thank u for all that you have done to help with all my health issues.

He is one of the worst doctors that’s I have ever seen in my life. Rude, unprofessional, had the same surgery twice and both failed and he doesn’t want to admit that they failed. Loser. You have been warned, stay away, you will regret it. I wish I can sue him. He is good for anything but not for being a doctor. Do your self a favor and find a doctor because this thing is not a doctor, doesn’t even know anything about customer service and how to talk to people. Loser

I have had 7-8 bouts with diverticulitis and wound up in the hospital several times this last year for at least a week. When I made an appt with Dr Zaggara he was a little rough around the edges but not all doctors have the best bed side manor. Once he gets to know you, you see a different side . He did explain everything to me and had the surgery on 12/6. I did what he asked and healed up great. I just had my last appt until I need to return in 5 years. I appreciate his hard work on my problem and finally have been pain free for two months !!!! Thanks to Dr Zaggara

Dr. Z takes time to answer all questions and concerns. Even after years after seeing him,I can still call him with a concern and he calls back to give the best advice! He is the best.

De. Zegara is the best! He really cares about his patients. He performed numerous surgeries on me. He always made me feel comfortable. Explained everything not only to me, but to my whole family who were always present during my procedures. He is now like a member of our family. He literally saved my life, so many times. I can say I am alive because of this wonderful man!

This physician is not forthcoming with support or instructions for office surgical procedure he performed on me recently. Had moderate to heavy bleeding for a week afterwards- no explanation, abrupt dismissal of my concerns, some sarcasm with his answers. Not the doctor to go to if clear explanations, post procedure instructions, or support are desired . Technically adept but somewhat rough- procedure a more traumatic experience than it needed to be.

I have never met a doctor who has been very disrecpecful, unprofessional, and not gentle in performimg his job. I dont trust him. He claimed he didnt do anything in my rear because of my hemorroid problem but he did somthing that its very painful. I m going to see another doctor to find out what he did.
