Dr. Jack Victor Cappitelli, MD

I am a mother of two and have been seeing Dr. Cappitelli for several years. We usually have a casual conversation when starting the visit and I told him I was recently divorced. He continued to exam me and during the exam he said so now that you are single, I can really give you a thorough exam...I was shocked and embarrassed. I could not wait to leave the exam room. I don't know if he was kidding or not, but it made me feel so uncomfortable that I will never go back to his office again!

Have been a patient for several years but this was my first appointment since the practice became part of Summit Medical. Was happy with timeliness, amount of time spent with me, and thoroughness. Have always like him and find easy to talk to.

Dr. Cappitelli has been treating me for over 10 years. always, helpful, always listens, great bedside manner. Never felt rushed. Very competent and caring MD.

First to this practice and was highly recommended to Dr. Cappitelli by my co-worker. Everything was great until the doctor came in. He must have been having a bad day or something. He was extremely rude and short with me. He barely listed to what my health concern was and spent less than 5 minutes with me. He spoke over me and made me feel like my concerns were rediculous. I'm a 53 year old woman with 3 kids and know when there is something wrong. He made me feel like I didn't know my own health. I would not recommend this doctor, nor will I be returning to this office.

New to Bergen County and was looking for a new PCP for me and my family and was recommended to Dr. Cappitelli. Unfortunately, this recommendation was not good! He was a little rude and abrupt during my visit and actually a little inappropriate in his comments to me. He didn't spend much time and treated me like a number just looking to get to his next patient. He made no eye contact with me and discounted my medical concerns. I will certainly not be going back to him or this practice, nor recommend it to anyone else in the future.

This was my second visit to this doctor because I wanted to give him another chance. Since his practice joined Summit Medical Group, his practice and his behavior as an MD changed dramatically. He is a non-caring, egotistical person who rushes you in and out and treats you like a number. He was rude AGAIN and minimized my own health concerns. He did not make me feel like I mattered. Choose another primary care physician who cares.

Unfortunately, I have been a long time patient and I will never go back to him again. He has become a different MD since joining Summit Medical Group. He doesn't seem to care about his patients anymore. He is very curt and rushes his patients out of the room so he can see more. He treated me like I was just a number, not as a human being.

I have been seeing Dr. Cap for over 10 years. Until about 6 months ago, things were excellent. The support staff has changed. They are extremely incompetent and rude; lacking even the basic of skills. The front end staff being the worst. They are completely untrained and lacking compassion, understanding, and basic common sense. Dr Cap has changed as well. Refuses to take calls, or will call back days later, if at all. Will refer calls to his " nurse", even if situation warrants his attention. In addition, Dr. Cap now rushes you through the appointment, and literally escorts you out. I will be changing doctors at this point, due to this. I'm sure losing patients do not matter, as they could care less. It is obvious that this practice is being run as a business, with nothing but the bottom-line in mind.
