Dr. Jack Steve Miller, MD

07/03/2026 2 years ago (05/2024) a urologist (Dr. Steven Miller at Urology Specialists of Tulsa) performed what was supposed to be a fairly routine procedure to relieve symptoms from a grossly enlarged prostate. Unfortunately, I was butchered & ended up with surgically induced incontinence. That was a huge problem I did not have beforehand & certainly not a problem I needed on top of several other significant, life-threatening health issues. After multiple complications from that procedure another urologist (Dr. James McGaedy, Urology Specialists of Tulsa) performed a corrective surgery (09/2024) which was sadly unsuccessful. Tuesday 06/02/2026 I had a 3rd surgery with Dr. McGaedy in one last attempt to correct past damages. Friday 06/05/2024 at 9:00 p.m. something blocked the catheter & it stopped working. My abdominal cavity continued to fill thru the night with toxic fluids as they had nowhere else to go. By 7:30 Saturday morning I was in indescribable pain & so distended I looked… like I was getting ready to give birth to a colt. I ended up at Hillcrest Hospital Emergency Room. The hospital could not immediately locate a qualified, on-duty surgeon, so I laid there for 4 hours screaming my bloody head off from excruciating pain. An off-duty surgeon was finally located & at 12:30 p.m. I was wheeled into emergency surgery. I was finally released to go home on Thursday 06/04/2024 hosting a catheter, a bladder bag, pneumonia, a blood infection & a UTI. The catheter & bag set I'll probably have for the rest of my life as there has been too much internal damage done. The fear is if the catheter is removed the urethra will collapse again & we'll be back in surgery or worse??? I also had to come home under hospice care as I now require their services. I am NOT equipped to live like this! To me this is not living, "it's a living nightmare"!!! I have no idea how I'm expected to cope with the situation??? I am broken, a wreck emotionally & in the throes of a major personal & spiritual crisis. Unfortunately, the people at Urinary Specialists of Tulsa who are responsible for this nightmare, are going about their lives as if nothing has ever happened. No apologies, no reprimands, no punishment, no going to the principal's office or even being put in "time out". They are layered up with malpractice insurance, the Dr's are not going to rat each other out & the clinic is not going to let anyone touch their staff. The prevailing attitude from the clinic has been, "I was at the wrong place at the wrong time…sorry"! I've been treated as no more than "collateral damage". Sadly, any prior attempts I’ve made towards reasoning, diplomacy or mediation with the clinic have fallen on deaf ears.

The nurse called with my test results. They wanted a few more test. Several weeks went by without hearing anything. Called the office and found out testosterone was low. They were to check and see what course the doctor wanted to follow. Now, a few weeks later, still no word. Called and was on hold 30 minutes and finally had to hang up.

I was a new patient w/ Dr. Miller. He was very through and listened to me. He has a great sense of humor. He explained what I continue to need to take medicine wise and why. He was sensitive talking about issues from my past medical history.

By Miller not having my 8mm kidney stone blasted ASAP which would have been one outpatient surgery, he delayed long enough for me to get a kidney infection which caused a trip to the emergency room. So the outpatient surgery scheduled for blasting turned into inserting a stint. After a round of antibiotics, 2 weeks later the outpatient surgery to blast the stone and a month later to remove the stint. I figure his delay cost an additional $15,000, of which I had to pay $2000 deductible then 20%. Sweet!!
