Dr. Jack David Schillen, MD

Dr. Schillin recommended (and flawlessly performed) a complex knee surgery to me after trying physical therapy and other options. I have full use of my knee again and can do things I never thought I’d be able to do again. Climb, run, hike, ski, etc.

When i asked about my mri he said there was something he found but didn't find ? And instead of explaining that he proceeded to tell me how an mri works in length, really? He said even if I did know what exactly what was going on with me he wouldn't take me as a patient because I formed my own medical opinion? More like I was questioning why after xrays and Mri I still am trying to get some kind of an amswer and god forbid a patient ask questions about their own care of their own body.. just another doctor with a God complex and this was my very first time meeting him and he made me wait about 35min in the room past my appointment time. After that treatment and him smirking everytime i was trying to explain what was going on I wouldn't have him work on me with a ten feet pole. Remember you are suppose to be helping hurt people right? At least that's what he says in his video about why he got into "helping people" hmmm didn't get that vibe at all. Wouldn't recommend.

I have suffered for weeks with a old shoulder injury and today eight hours after my visit to Doctor Schillen and his famous painless shot my pain is gone. Redding CA is so lucky to have a Orthopaedic Surgeon in their city like this Doctor. Delores Fargen

I was never shown my x-rys, MRI nor was it explained why he thought my only option was knee replacement surgery . Short, sweet, brief and curt. Also, he does not do knee replacement, only arthroscopic work but he says he is the best there is..

Dr. Schillen has been my surgeon on more than one occasion. He is thorough, great bedside manner, trustworthy, and I have not had any problems what- so -every with my surgeries. I would definetely recommend him. He is one of the few good doctors ,in my opinion, in Redding.

I was a patient of both Dr. Schillen and Dan Mallamo and both are very professional and excellent in what they do. I would go back to either one and highly reccommend each as well.

I have some sort of shin splint. It is probably tenosynovitis, but they are convinced that I have bone issues. His colleague told me to bike instead of run. This made it worse. He then put me in an orhtopedic boot. That didn't help. I asked to see a different doctor. Schill3en thought I had compartment syndrome, then he changed his mind. he just told me to rest. This has not helped. I would not go back to this clinic for anything. They are too big, see too many patients, and it is impossible to contact anybody in a timely manner. Getting my records of a referral someplace else took over a week. They did not provide effective treatment in part becasue they never established an accurate diagnosis.
