Dr. Jack Howard Tarr, MD

This Doctor has prescribed an unnecessary controlled substance to his patient even though the patient is experiencing dangerous side effects that affect the patient and the immediate family members. The doctor is aware of these issues and still prescribed the same dosage medication more than once over a period of months.

Has poor listening skills, and seems to be more interested in writing a long list of prescriptions rather than investigate the root of the problem.

Dr. Tarr takes the time with his patients and has an empathetic heart. He listens and is available when needed. Best doctor I have ever seen. He's in it for all the right reasons.

Dr. Tarr rushed me through very quickly during several appointments. He prescribed strong, controversial medicine as a first resort without discussing alternatives. He recommended surgery and set me up with a specialist. By this point I no longer trusted his judgement and received a second opinion from another surgeon. He, however, did not recommend surgery and claimed the problem would go away on its own- and has. I switched practices and have been doing so much better since leaving Family Care Specialists.

The office is very disorganized Nurse makes a lot of mistakes They forget what procedure they did on you from previous visits!! Very difficult to get the nurse or any staff on phone- you have to go through another building at a different number to get to speak with Tarr's staff ( what a nightmare)

Only wants your money, even more so than most GP's. Will NOT do what is convenient for the patient. Will shuttle you in for appointments even if unnecessary (ex. If you are prescribed a medication through him for years, he will not just simply call it in but instead have his staff make you have a appointment when uncalled for) go else where for your doctor needs.

Please be aware this dr is only out for your money and to see his face on tv. As soon as he started running commercials on his practice he began dropping patience and not telling them. He left me without my life saving meds that I have to take and gave no explanation. Please do not use this dr if ya want to be treated like a human with respect and dignity you will go else were.
