Dr. Jacob Hakkola, MD

Dr. Jacob Hakkola is the Medical Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UP Health System - Marquette. He is from Escanaba and graduated from Michigan Technological University as an electrical engineer. While developing pacemakers he was introduced to the field of interventional radiology which proved to be a defining moment that changed the direction of his career. He returned to Marquette after finishing his medical training and feels honored to be back home and have the opportunity to take care of friends, family and neighbors throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Dr. Hakkola specializes in treating vascular disease, including peripheral arterial disease, limb salvage, aortic aneurysm repair and pulmonary embolism treatment.
