Dr. Jacob Albert Samander, MD

I would like to thank Dr Samander for fixing my life. He gets straight to the point but is very caring and loyal. Even when he is on vacation or out of the country he will call when there is an emergency. God bless this man.

Samander was a cool cat. A good egg. We had our spats here and there but overall, I believe he truly had the best intentions with seeing me get better. One of the last things he said to me was “don’t sell yourself short”... I’ve kept that in mind since the last time I saw him 6 years ago and it has been a positive reminder to stay true to myself and to others, to move forward, to voice my needs directly, upfront, openly and honestly, even if I didn’t understand them myself, to value integrity, and to learn from the past. I wish I could have had an opportunity to thank him in person, and if this review is the closest I can get to that, than thank you Samander. You’re irreplaceable as a psychiatrist. You go down in my books as my fav. ...Keep up the good work with “how you roll”. Haha! ??

I have been seeing Dr. Samander for the last 15 years and have been very happy with all the help he has given to me and my family.

The man is rude and his staff sucks give it up doc and close shop

My physician suggested I visit Dr Samander. I called several times to make an appointment but only got an answer machine. Their machine states that they only check their messages every 48 hours. I left many messages but never received a return call. Finally, I called my doctor to complain and he called their office. They called me to make an appointment, and I was told that to make an initial appointment you had to go through your doctor. They could have answered one of my messages and told me that. Then I had my first appointment, and there was a student there also, which I didn't mind, as I had been a student,years ago, doing clinicals also. I was favorably impressed with Dr Samander and was told he would have me off all medications within 3 months. The next few visits I began to wonder why I was there as my appointments were only 15 minutes and he did most of the talking. I am a little slow at revealing myself, but each time I made an effort to go more than skin deep he… was a little unresponsive. Between appointments, I had a question, but once again, I was unable to get them to return my phone messages. When I finally got through, I canceled my next appointment. There has been no follow up, no checking to see if I am okay, no asking why I canceled my appointment, no nothing. I have read all the other reviews, and some of them are glowing. Maybe it was me and my temperament, but I won't be gong back.

Dr. Samander truly knows what he is doing if you let him help you. He may seem hard to some at times but that is all part of his master plan.

Although i only went 1 time to the doctor i was taken a back by an intern waiting in his office little did i know she was going to sit in on my first visit which made me so uncomfortable being there is a reason i was there to see psychiatrist because of issues in my life so i feel it was rude of the office that they did not ask me prior going in to see the doctor i felt very on the spot and would of preferred a one on one first session with the doctor so that upset me very much,i am not sure if i will be going back i would consider if an intern isnt there staring me down and observing me like a lab rat.

I would tell anyone having problems to go and see Dr. Samander. He is a super good guy and really cares about his patients.

he's helped me through some difficult times and he truly cares, takes time to listen to me. always professional,staff helpfula nad polite, i think the office is run well.

There is no answer service and cannot get callbacks within 24 hours.
