Dr. Jacqueline Cosme, MD

Dr. Cosme, without considering my lifestyle (I was very active and ate like a normal 16 year old girl) or my blood results (which she never tested), continuously told me I needed to lose weight fast and stressed that I was fat and obese. One summer after she stressed this intensely, I had disordered eating and lost 20 pounds in 2-3 months (not healthy considering I was already active and ate pretty healthy). She didn’t ask me how I did it and praised me immensely. Of course once I started eating healthily again I gained the weight back and she continued to scold me until I grew out of the pediatricians. This was very harmful and it has taken me years to understand the wrongdoing. I would recommend finding a doctor that has a more holistic approach for your child. It has caused me a negative relationship with the medical system, but now having a doctor who has tested my blood to understand that it is healthy and taken time to understand my lifestyle, I am working to gain it back trust.

We switched to Dr. Cosme when my daughter entered the tween years as she is an adolescent specialist. We have found her to be competent, a good listener, and a good communicator. She "gets" teenagers and comes across as non-judgmental on sensitive topics. My daughter is very comfortable with her.

My child was neglected and abused by her and now she is grown up she is still traumatized from the ordeal.

Exactly what a doctor should be. Skilled, professional, empathetic and a gifted communicator!
