Unethical Practice! While Dr. Littzi and her office staff are initially polite, costs for expensive services/tests are not explained clearly PRIOR to them being given, and the total cost for my visit was an expensive surprise bill. One cost of $55 for a "retinal image screening test" was clearly communicated to me, and I agreed to that charge which would be in addition to my eye exam charge of $150. When I checked out, I paid a bill that was $205. I thought I was paying for the eye exam and the retinal image screening. All good. I did not realize until I got home that I had paid for 2 tests, and I was also going to be billed for an eye exam, bringing the total cost to $355. My husband, who had referred me to Dr. Littzi, called the office and was told by the female receptionist that it was "assumed" that I wanted the second test in order to get new glasses. I never even realized I was getting a second test--I thought this was all part of a routine eye exam. It was NEVER… communicated to me that there would be an additional charge of $150. Why was I clearly informed about the charge for one test, but not for the other? Dr. Littzi refused to make an adjustment and this is not fair, or ethical. I should have been clearly informed of all charges before tests were given. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews:

Dr. Littzi and her staff were nice and friendly The doctor spent time with me and took care of my problem with skill and care. I will definitely recommend seeing her if you need and ophthalmologist

Although the doctor herself seems to be competent, her staff is not, not is the office appearance (messy and dirty) . Although I explicitly asked the total costs before making an appointment, I still got a "nice" surprise about a month later for an additional unspecified fee (2x times the original amount) which was not even on the invoice I received while there. Plus they insist on having your credit card on file but then charge you for using it. Thank twice before going, I I for sure will never go back.

Her interests are not aligned with her patients. She ran unnecessary tests, without explaining them to me, and lumped them all into one bill. Even worse she charges 2x or 3x what Healthcare Bluebook suggest. Just a bad doctor :(

While Dr. Littzi herself seems to be a qualified doctor, her assistant, front desk and billing are all poorly managed at the New Canaan office. I booked the first appointment in the morning, the doctor was 20 minutes late, the assistant took forever to get some initial test done for me. The worst is their billing, they don't check insurance info carefully, inform you wrong information about billing and charges, they don't even bother to send you correct bill, just harass you over email and phone calls for payment.

Like many others who have reviewed Dr. Littzi, I had an experience that was probably the worst of forty plus years with medical professionals. This is the type of practice that gives doctors of any type a bad name and I would strongly urge any potential customers to look elsewhere. Too many reasonable professionals to endure this type of treatment on a regular basis.

Do not see her! Late, disrespectful, and expensive. Also, my PCP told me she was likely wrong in her diagnosis of my eye condition. So that was a waste of 700$, not to mention 3 hours of waiting.

I am a long time patient of Dr. Littzi who also treated my father in law. She is an excellent doctor and delightful per son.

Don't waste your time and money. I wish can give 0 star. Question with billing, they will add all unnecessary practice and you will only find out about it on your bill a month later. Prepare to spend $$$
