Dr. Jacqueline Beth Messa, MD

Awful doctor, stay away from her. Very rude manners, does not like questions.

Dr Messa came in and educated us in a very kind and caring way. She was efficient in sharing her knowledge and took valuable time with us. My husband had a complicated situation and she communicated well with other physicians on our behalf. We thank her for her patience and care.

I also question where UC Health Highlands Ranch is finding these contract hospitalists like Dr. Messa. I am normally taken care of at Anschutz, but the hospital was full and I was admitted to Highlands Ranch. Dr. Messa is the least patient-centric physician I have ever encountered. She is rude, dismissive and flippant towards patients, and doesn’t know what she is doing. I am also a healthcare worker, and have a clue about how things should be done. She ordered the wrong test and then interpreted another test incorrectly- this was told to me by one of the specialists who consulted on me. I have never felt less cared about as a patient, and am disappointed in UC Health for relying on contractors instead of using real School of Medicine faculty. The rest of the staff was wonderful, however, and they are the only reason I didn’t leave AMA.

Quite possibly the worst bedside manner of any physician I have ever encountered. Rude, dismissive, and doesn't listen. I'm not sure where UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital found her.

Very rude to nurses. Before becoming a 'doctor', please learn basic people-skills

She remains memorable in my mind as a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. She knows what she is doing and cares for each patient and will go out of her way to make sure the patient is cared for by all the doctors involved.

Dr. Messa does not communicate results of tests; seems out of date in her medical knowledge; her staff chew gum and have a filthy appearing lunch room, her waiting room is dirty; she does not follow up with calls to patients even when asked. Her responses when she does give them seem flippant. I would not recommend her to my friends. When asked by another infection specialist his opinion of her, he did not answer except to say "I know her"

Giving Dr. Messa a 1 star for Bedside manner is being very courteous! She spent all of 4 minutes with the patient, mostly poking and prodding and barely asking questions. Because the patient had some knowledge in medicine and spoke to Dr. Messa in the medical tone, the doctor spoke in a condescending tone back to her and her visitors. She did not explain whether the blood tests might result in a different course of care. She was abrupt and seemed irritated. She was rude to all of us and singularly uninformative, and blamed visitors for lack of space in the room.
