My experience was just like the one star review of Aug. 2014. I highly suggest a different doctor and medical plan.

Not thorough enough. Totally missed a tumor on a scan. Now I fight for my life.

First off, let me begin by saying this is the first time that I have ever written a negative review for anything. I've had my fair share of bad experiences but I've never been compelled to write a negative review for anything or anyone except in this case for Dr. Jacqueline Okada. This doctor is more interested in going home early than taking care of her patients. On more than one occasion, she left me waiting in her office while she went home at 5 o'clock (or 5:30, I dont remember the exact time). Didnt even have the decency to tell her patient that she was going to leave; instead, I had to ask the staff when the doctor would come and see me but was informed that she had just left for the day. What kind of doctor does this? This type of inappropriate behavior aside, I would like to mention that this is nothing compared to her gross lack of integrity as a healthcare practitioner. I was appalled not only by her lack of professionalism, but her incompetence as a physician and… outright dishonesty. For months, I had been going to her with a specific symptom but she told me she performed a number of tests and that the tests had come back negative every time so I was fine and that I should simply go home. Its important to note here that she never once took my symptoms seriously and as was evident in her demeanor, she was irritated by my returning to her for the same chief complaint time and time again. My old-fashioned upbringing instilled in me the sense that I was to respect my physician, so I placed my confidence in her but my symptoms grew more frequent and severe over the months until one day I made the decision to try another doctor. This new doctor who wasnt covered under my current insurance plan (and thus I had to pay out of pocket for) was extremely courteous and addressed my complaints with the sincerity and passion one would expect from a professional physician. Some moments later, my lab results come in he (the new doctor) tells me that I should go to the emergency room immediately. Before I leave, he asks me why I didnt come in to see a doctor earlier with these complaints but the truth is I had been seen by Dr. Jacqueline Okada with these symptoms for months and on numerous occasions. If it was genuine incompetence on her part this ordeal just might be a bit more forgiveable but her actions go far beyond the realm of simple negligence. There is just too much pain and suffering that I have endured under (and as a result of) the "care" of Dr. Okada and the damage that has been done can never be reversed but I would hate to have another patient become victimized as I have. Therefore it is with great regret that I take my experiences to the internet and write this review. Please, if you have any doubts about Dr. Jacqueline Okada's diagnosis and treatments, I beg that you go and get a second opinion before its too late and you are forced to have an operation like I did.
