Dr. Jacqueline Ann Pongracic, MD

The visit I had with Dr. Pongracic for my infant was hands down the best physician experience I have ever had. My baby had an anaphylactic reaction to food and had to be taken to the emergency room via ambulance. The previous pediatric allergist we saw did testing for potential allergens and left us even more confused with no clear plan of action. Dr. Pongracic had excellent bedside manner, was extremely thorough and empathetic, and took time to answer all of my questions. She and her staff spent significant time on patient education and typed out a clear plan of care with specific instructions on next steps, down to what specific brand of food to introduce at home. I feel such relief after seeing Dr. Pongracic and am so grateful that my infant is in the care of such an amazing physician.

My son sees Dr. Pongracic for his food allergies and asthma. She is not only an incredibly skilled and highly-credentialed doctor, but her bedside manner is one of the best I've ever experienced. She is patient and so thorough. She really takes the time to listen to what my son and I have to say and we have never once felt rushed in her office. Today we were the last appointment of the day on a frigid Chicago winter day, and it was blizzarding outside. All the nurses had left or were leaving, but Dr. Pongracic stayed to keep talking to us. She goes above and beyond and we are so lucky to have her as our doctor.

We recently went to see Dr. Pongracic based on positive online reviews. Our son has had a reaction to both amoxicillin and Cefdinir several months apart even though the reactions came on only after taking the antibiotics. We were told the reaction wasn't related to a drug allergy before we even had our son tested. Both times when our son stopped taking the penicillin-based antibiotics his severe raised rash went away. Our pediatrician thought it was a drug allergy which is why we came to Dr. Pongracic. We waited over two hours in the doctor's room to see her, saw another nurse and doctor first and then spent all of 10 minutes with her. Not impressed.

Phenomenal Physician. Lurie and our daughter are lucky to have such a great, caring allergist. Dr. Pongracic also has an amazing bedside manner with small children - She is fantastic - What else is there to say?

She's wonderful and has greatly helped my son's severe asthma.

This doctor only tries to relieve symptoms, she didn't try to find an underlying cause. She didn't tell us to follow up with her.
