Dr. Jake E Ritt, MD

This Dr Ritt does not care about his patients. You go to him he immediately dismisses your questions. Had no patience for me to explain medications, so annoyed, he wrote down three medications on a piece of paper, handed it to me told me to call him when I decide what I want to take. Does not examine you at all. Talks a few words from the door with a mask on. Says see you in 6 months. I’m seeing him since June and my inflammation in my body , still the same. Found a different Dr went over my whole medical history. , actually touched my joints, ordered many different blood tests, and had me take X-rays . Who ever reads this be very selective on who you want to help you get better, you have no wait time because he does nothing , so you are in and out.

I consulted with Dr. Ritt after suffering from multiple incidents where suddenly and seemingly without reason, joints would swell and be overtaken by inflammation to the point where they were immobile over the course of a few months. I also explained that I had been having stomach issues for about six months or so at that time. He did not run or order any tests and sent me on my way assuring me that I did not need a rhematologist and that I was "fine" although he ordered an xray for some inexplicable reason. That was in January. A few days ago, my knee swelled up so badly that I could not bear weight on it and I generally felt exhausted and unwell. My primary care doctor ordered a complete blood panel. All indicators for Lyme Disease are off the charts. A rheumatologist treats Lyme Disease. It is hard to imagine how he (a rheumatologist) missed tell-tale signs of a rheumatological response/Lyne Disease or why he felt that he could discern that I was fine by simply looking at me. I… caution people to make their choices carefully when considering whether they want to consult with Dr. Ritt. I could have saved myself months of medical issues and discomfort by consulting with someone competent. Indeed, the progression of the Lyme could have been stopped six months ago had Dr. Ritt bothered to actually listen, consider my symptoms, or even ran tests to see if his gut feeling about my health was even remotely accurate...PS: it was not. I could have gotten a better medical diagnosis from a Magic Eight Ball.

I consulted with Dr. Ritt after experiencing multiple incidents of migrating inflammation over many months. I was an otherwise healthy 49 year old woman with no prior history of inflammation (other than that for which I was consulting him). He asked me one question only .... whether the inflammation was worse in the morning and improved throughout the day. When I answered no, he sent me on my way insisting that I was fine and did not need a rheumatologist. Five months later, I was incapacitated by inflammation in my knee joint. My knee was so swollen that an ortho was bemused by how big it was. The results of blood work ordered by my primary care physician revealed very high levels of the antibodies for Lyme including the antibodies showing that I had had lyme for quite some time. Dr. Ritt professes to be a lyme specialist yet he completely ignored what I now understand to be obvious signs of lyme disease because he couldn't be bothered to run basic bloodwork for a disease he claims… to be a specialist in. His actions (or lack thereof) were dangerous and certainly seem to me to have been negligent. If you want a substandard, shoddy approach to figuring out your medical condition than Dr. Ritt is your guy!

Agree with negative reviews. Prefer my doctors to listen instead of just talk. Awkward, uncomfortable appointment caused me to seek new rheumatologist. Perhaps Dr had an off day.

I would not recommend Dr. Ritt He ignored my concerns I was able to see him same day there was a cancelation I asked him to do bloodwork 2x and based on his exam he did think I needed it 2 months later I got the bloodwork with a nurse practitioner no questions asked have lymes & a +ANA and waiting another month to see a rheumatologist I could have know this 2 months ago & been able to treat things sooner he was way off took an xray said I had arthritic changes in my neck that could be causing pain or could be sleep apnea sorry way off !

I have been seeing Dr. Ritt for only 10 months now- I have suffered from Gout for the past ten years and my affliction has been a bit difficult to nail down and control. I feel fortunate to have Dr. Ritt helping me now. I am completely at ease and confident with Dr. Ritt and his systematic approach to helping me through controlling this condition. Dr. Ritt listens, advises, is thorough, caring, intelligent, and 100% responsive. I wish I had found Dr. Ritt years ago. Dr. Ritt is Confident = "absolutely" ..........Arrogant = "Not". Ten thumbs up to Dr. Ritt and the Summit Medical Group.

I found Dr Ritt to be pompous, arrogant, condescending and flat out rude. He was very dismissive of my concerns and did not take the time to find out my medical history. He rushed through the visit as if I was bothering him. My visit was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!! Further, he never called me with any of my test results. I literally got nothing out of the visit except for overwhelming frustration and sadness. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
