Dr. Jamal Mohammad Farran, MD

I saw him for about a minute in the ER. After waiting 6 hours I was taken to an examination room. He walked in asked me how I was feeling I said not well I had a severe pain on my right side. He did not examine me he just walked out and went to the computer. I never saw him again but he wrote a report on my chart as if he’d taken care of me. Thank goodness for the nurses and the nurse practitioner.

This person gave me fear. Yelled at me, did not communicate with me, and when I asked to speak to him, I waited and waited only to see him chit chatting and carrying on with other staff with disregard to my care and being.

He seemed to be okay when we first talked. He said he would check my father in laws blood work and be right back. He did not return for 3 hours! After the labs and CT results were clear and we were to be discharged! I was so upset to see they would just send a 78 year old man home in so much pain and not try and figure out what else could be going on, or at the very least prescribe him some pain medication until he could see someone else! 5 1/2 hours in the ER to be sent home and dismissed! I requested another doctor and was told I would have to check in all over again and start over at 1:30 in the morning! I would rather go to another hospital further away where I could be seen by a real doctor who cares! He literally asked me "what do you expect from me?" How about do your job I said, and he walked away and said we were done!

Compassionate and knowledgeable. His kindness was appreciated.

Absolutely horrible doctor!!!! In the emergency room from 11pm to 515 am. He saw me once couldn't even be bothered to give me my results because he was flirting with a nurse. We waited over 3.5 hours to see a nurse tell us we're being discharged. The pain has spread, the abdominal swelling is even worse to the point I can't even pee, and am much worse than when I walked in.

Saw Dr. Farran in the ER of Eisenhower Med Center. He was about as good as an ER doc can get, knowledgeable, caring and taking time to explain the situation.
