Complete and utter bad person. He made my mom feel terrible after her last visit. Very inconsiderate and very unwelcoming. He also messed up the medication my aunt was on a while back. I wouldn't recommend this clown to anyone. Be aware

Horrible Doctor. I never do reviews but this guy is arrogant, rude, and does not spend any time with you.. then will charge you an arm and a leg! He is the worse psychiatrist ever.

This guy is an arrogant uncaring uncompassionate Dr who doesn't listen to his patients. I have dinpolar depression with severe anxiety and insomnia. His answer to my symptoms was a handout on sleep hygiene, that's it. He ordered a drug test however I don't have one nor was it discussed. He probably has a financial interest in the company who performs those tests. I since have found a great Dr at U of M and a year later my life is great. Please avoid this Doctor he shouldn't be practicing.

I've now read all of the reviews, to date, that some of Dr. Adamo's other patients chose to post here. Regarding the many negative comments, I believe it's instructive to remind all readers that Dr. Adamo is a psychiatrist, not a psychologist. This distinction is critical in that most of the patients' complaints seem to arise from their inappropriate expectations. Broadly, it is Dr. Adamo's job to prescribe medications to his patients for the treatment of one or more of their diagnosed psychological maladies. If any of his patients expect more than that from Dr. Adamo (again, a psychiatrist), their dissatisfaction is unfounded. Because meds alone do not typically restore psychological well-being, psychiatric patients are urged to concurrently secure the care of a psychologist/therapist. These are the professionals whose job it is to engage their patients in the kind of relationship that so many here seem to have mistakenly expected from Dr. Adamo. While there are some… psychiatrists who are also certified and licensed as therapists, Dr. Adamo is not. His expertise lies in psychiatry and neurology — and his patients are better served for this. It was nearly five years ago that I came to be under Dr. Adamo's care. At the same time I was also seeing a psychologist. The first year, I was simply a mess. While I made progress in therapy, my brain chemistry remained stubbornly uncooperative. It was only thanks to Dr. Adamo's skill, knowledge and resolve that he ultimately arrived at the regimen of various medications that would literally give me back my life. Today I know that my psychologist and my psychiatrist are both blessings for whom I am eternally grateful.

I feel scammed after visiting Dr. Adamo. I waited a month & spent $230 for him to make an assumption about me in less than 40 minutes. I asked him how he could come to a conclusion so quickly in such a short amount of time to which he responded, "Experience." I asked him if he would be reviewing my list of symptoms and test results I prepared for him and get back to me, to which he responded "I don't see why that would be necessary." He wanted to start me on a similar medication that I had taken before which I had already told him was a terrible experience for me. He brushed aside other symptoms I tried to talk about and actually got confrontational with me saying, "If you're asking me to give you *specific diagnosis* I won't do it!" That's not at all what I was asking for and I stated that I was looking for him to help me confirm it or rule it out. I broke down in tears when I got to my car. That appointment was a complete waste of my time. He didn't care to help me, he wanted to… quickly put a label on me and put me on medication. I was genuinely looking for a path to answers I could be confident in due to thorough assessments and testing. What I got was an arrogant hack.

Quick, non-empathetic

Dr. Adamo is skilled, confident, patient, and self assured. He has treated me for five years. Therefore, he is very patient and all of the aforementioned qualities. If you need your mental health back, he will help you on the road to recovery. He is excellent with details and thorough!! You can be healthy, again. Best wishes!!

Arrogant. Condescending. Reckless with medications. Does not care about his patients well being whatsoever.

My daughter (adult) was seeing Dr. Adamo for several months. I do believe he is knowledgeable regarding medications; however, even when it was a "good" visit; he was at best--lacking bedside manner during the on average, 4 minute visit. He exhibits no empathy or interest in his patients. On a "bad" visit; which seemed to come quickly in the process; he is extremely arrogant, condescending, and belligerent. I have never witnessed a doctor of any specialty treat a patient in this horrid of a manner. Don't dare question him on anything; he will respond venomously. At first, we wrote it off as him having a bad day, but the following visit was even worse. (Staff is very friendly and helpful though)

Very knowledgeable and has tact when communicating. Talks with you as an individual and not as just another patient.
