Dr. James Peter Anthony, MD

Dr. James Anthony refused to take accountability. My result after having the breast augmentation [07/18/2022] extremely depressing asymmetry breast capsular contracture etc. I don't recommend this surgeon

Dr. Anthony completely and irreparably ruined my face. I went to Dr. Anthony for a facelift 8 years ago and it has taken me 8 years to write this review. I caution everyone not to go to this doctor. I do not think he should be working anymore. I think he has gotten sloppy and lazy. I went to Dr. Anthony for a face lift. I remember saying to him before going under, please do not ruin my eyes as they were my best feature. Well, I must have subconsciously prompted him to do so. He pulled the right side of my face tighter than the left. What is worse is he pulled my left brow noticeably higher than my right whereas he pulled the left lower lid noticeably lower than my right. He also damaged the nerve on the upper right brow so that lower side does not move as much as the left side - which makes for great personal expressions when the side the is already higher moves even higher! And, he damaged the lid on the lower left so that the movement when smiling or closing my eyes is markedly… different from the right. He knew he had messed up as he would not even show me my before and after pictures and go over them with me. He did eventually send them to me. His suggestion was that I wear big glasses to hide my eyes. Literally, that was his suggestion. I cover up the mistake he made. I have spent 8 years going to other doctors who tell me that they can lift the right brow risking further nerve damage but there is no way to fix the lower left lid. I would stay away from this doctor. I think such neglect for precision and then such a nonchalant attitude of suggesting I cover up his sloppiness is something that should disqualify a doctor from practicing.

I have only good things to say about Dr. Anthony and his staff. He performed a blepharoplasty and a brow lift and the outcome was phenomenal. I had a painless and quick recovery with results that looked so natural. I got many compliments about how great I looked but no one could put a pin on why. Dr. Anthony’s staff is also wonderful. Yasmin was super sweet and professional and Ann helped me with all of the logistics and arrangements for my procedure. I am so glad that I had the surgery and that I chose Dr. Anthony.

I have nothing but the best to say about Dr. Anthony. He is a skillful, conscientious, caring and empathetic doctor, which is difficult to find these days. He took the time to explain to me thoroughly the procedures he was going to perform. I love the outcome and couldn’t hope for a better result. I recommend Dr. Anthony for any cosmetic surgery you may be thinking about.

Dr Anthony does not have a compassionate bone in his body.

Bad Results are not a good enough reason for malpractice I learned the hard way.

Absolutely the most fantastic plastic surgeon! Immediately after my mastectomy in 1998, he performed a very complicated and hours-long tram flap operation. The results were beautiful--as related to me by many doctors and nurses over the years. Seventeen years later, I asked him to perform a breast reduction surgery--I didn't want anyone but him working on my breasts. I live in NY now and so flew to SF for this procedure. I am so happy with the results. He is truly a gifted artist and a compassionate human being.
