Dr. James Alfred Aurand, MD

Dr. Aurand is the most knowledgeable, caring and skilled physician I have ever known in my 91 years of life with 40 of those in the space program with NASA. He was my family doctor, personal friend and confidant for years until he closed his practice in Rockledge, Florida. I would love to see him on a trip to his former home in Florida.

This is the best doctor I've ever had in all my life. I believe in him so much, after 19 years with him I'm considering moving to Wyoming don't want to trade him for the world see you soon- Doctor A

Always have issue resolved before I leave! Courteous staff and also, Dr. Aurand takes his time with you-you never feel rushed or pressed for time!

I have to say, the wait is well worth it, because when you get in to see Dr. Aurand, he takes as much time as is needed to thouroughly diagnos, help, and suggest treatment, and his bedside manner is, second to none. You always feel relaxed, comfortable, and at ease, and able to discuss your concerns with his full attention. I highly recommend this family physician.

Like others have said he is a fantastic doctor. He is warm and caring, full of stories and knowledgeable. The draw back is his office staff. One lady's accent makes her hard to understand and she is a bit abrasives if the way she talks to you. . The wait is painfully long. My husband sees Dr. Aurand and he treats both my sons for ADD and ADHD. We use him because he too suffers from ADD and that is apparent since he was late for my husbands appt (the first one of the day) . Again super sweet guy and he does spend time with everyone and you never feel rushed out of the room, but really the wait is crazy we have waiting 2 hours and to wait 2 hours with a kid who has ADHD in an office is crazy, when the staff and others give you evil eyes because the kids are bouncing off the walls go figure!

I have been going to Dr Aurand for at least 10 years. He has pulled me through several illnesses while diagnosing them where no other doctor would take the time to listen to all of my symptoms and run the tests needed. This doctor has a great bedside manner and spends the time needed for each individual. He also tries to help patients with natural remedies if possible before prescribing meds. Sometimes the wait is long but worth it. I would wait all day to see this doctor. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Dr. Aurand is quite knowledgeable and takes the time to explain issues with his patients. Unfortunately, the downfall of this otherwise excellent doctor is his office staff. I have never had a wait less than 90 minutes and the office staff is clueless, at best (failing to submit lab orders, sending information to the incorrect lab on multiple occasions, etc.)

Dr. Aurand has been my doctor for about 9 years. I don't have the space to write about all of the great things about him. One time I was released from a hospital by another doctor without a diagnosis while severely ill. I went to Dr Aurand and he knew my problem and set up aggressive treatment right away. My organs were shutting down and I would have died within 2 weeks. Since then he has always been there above and beyond. The only thing that patients need to know is that there is always a long wait but those of us who love and trust him know that he is taking time with a patient that needs him. It is worth the wait because when it is my turn I never feel rushed as he always makes sure everything is explained and I totally understand. I drive almost an hour for an appointment since I moved away.I wouldn't go to anyone else. He saved my life and I will always be grateful.

I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Aurand.If there are any negatives, I haven't found them yet.my employer switched insurance companies. Dr. Aurand is not in thier network. I continue going to him, and pay out of pocket, he's THAT good.

He is very knowledgeable about details of drugs. He is trained in trigger point therapy, which is very unusual. THE most thorough family practitioner that I have ever been to. Exceptionally knowledgeable about medicine in general. Can highly recommend him.
