Dr. James Aust  has been enjoying dentistry since earning his DDS degree from The Ohio State University in 1984.  He previously earned his BS degree from Bowling Green State University. His high school and earlier years were mostly spent In Toledo where he still has family.
Following dental school, Dr Aust did an additional year of advanced training in Montreal, Quebec affiliated with McGill University. This intensive program focused on full smile reconstruction, oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. 
Since returning to Columbus in 1985, Dr. Aust has devoted his practice to providing a uniquely positive dental experience for patients while developing long term relationships.  He has been fortunate to surround himself with staff members over the years who share this philosophy.  Like minded Dr Shawn Shaver joined the practice in 2001 and has provided a valuable addition.
Dr Aust is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Dental …Association, Ohio Dental Association, Columbus Dental Society and Academy of General Dentistry.  He is a founding member of the local Dental Excellence Study Group.  He additionally works with several charitable organizations providing dentistry to those who are unable to afford traditional dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Aust has a special interest in fitness and nutrition.  He particularly enjoys training and competing in duathalons.  He also enjoys windsurfing, racquetball and golf.  His wife Tracy is an internationally known horticulturist/author and an accomplished triathlete.  Their son Zachary runs track and cross country and is a magician.
