Dr. James Talmadge Barnett, MD

Similar to above review. Saw him for almost 3 years. Didn’t remember me from visit to visit. One visit he’d express sympathy next he’d discuss taking you off meds. Never once failed a test. I was an Excellent patient but can’t say the same for him as a Dr.

I've been seeing Doc Barnett since 2005. I suffer from chronic pain caused from on the job injuries. He never remembers what you talked about fromone appointment to the next. My body burns off pain meds really fast so a low dosage usually does me no good or only lasts for a couple of hours. I've been accused of selling my meds or not taking them correctly because my drug test has come back negative for everything he tests for, and you HAVE to take a test at every visit. One month I'm taking meds that help me have a semi normal life and the next he lowers my meds because he's afraid of the DEA. I had a very active and somewhat normal life before he started playing with my meds. Now I can't even clean my house or do the dishes without assistance. His mood swings are ridiculous. One visit he may be extremely nice and the next you'd think he hates you. He has lowered my pain meds so much that I'm basicly chair bound. I have gained 60 pounds because I can barely get around now. I… really think he no longer cares about his patients. A few months ago one of his patients had hah enough and he pulled a gun on the doctor because the patient needed his meds and the doc wouldn't give them to him. His reputation is more important to him than his patients.

Dr. Barnett is a dr who really seems to care about you as a person not only as a patient. He has always been good about addressing any of my concerns or questions that I may have. I would recommend Dr. Barnett to anyone who is looking for a really good dr.

Seems to be caring and friendly and genuinely tries to help. The office is very friendly also, with a very short wait. The only thing iI didn't like was the 6 months it took to get an initial appointment. Would Recommend him to anyone needing pain care!

Dr. Barnett is a person who seems to be committed to his practice of medicine, specifically rehab medicine. He spent a lot of time with me and made me feel like he cares about me as a person.
