Dr. James Blount III, MD

Dr. Blount has taken care of me for years now. He has been there for me throughout some gyn issues and two pregnancies. There is no better doctor in our area. He is very thorough and knowledgeable. He has always done a wonderful job explaining everything to me in detail and preparing me for different outcomes. He seems genuinely concerned for my wellbeing and is easy to talk to. He allows me to have input in my plan of care but is very straightforward and I can really appreciate that especially in stressful situations. I would recommend Dr. Blount to anyone and everyone! He is truly an amazing doctor.

He treated me like I was dumb for coming in early when pregnant, even though primary physician sent me because he had tested me positive for pregnancy and I had several VERY positive tests at home. I had a miscarriage at the beginning of the year and wanted to be safe. He never introduced himself, which made me a little uneasy off the bat, then he asked me “why was I even there” his exact words. He said “his test” was negative and I was not pregnant, BUT when his nurse brought it in the room and told him there was a line on there for “pregnant” he told me no that I was not. He refused to take a look at me, because there was “nothing he could do” and “he didn’t want to examine for a pregnancy that’s not there.” Awful bed manners. His very dry humor was extremely unappreciated in such a serious moment for my husband and I. We left both angry and in tears. I will never be going back to him. Update: We went home took several, different brand tests, all were positive and went to a… different OB the next day who said I was in fact high risk AND pregnant. So thankful that doctor heard my concerns and knew what he was taking about. Dr. Blount is a joke and I will never ever be going back.
