Dr. James Borin, MD

Knows his stuff, but is reluctant to impart it to patients. Way too rush and impatient. This doctor does not know the meaning or value of the sentence "Do you have any questions."

I have had kidney stones for years, and they hurt. Dr. Borin knew I wasn't kidding when I told him my symptoms. He treated me promptly and really was understanding of my problem. He has been the best stone doctor I have seen in my many years of dealing with stones.

I was a patient of Dr. Borin’s when he was at the Univ of Maryland Medical Center. I first met Dr. Borin in 2008 when I presented to the Emergency Department with kidney stones. Dr. Borin was very helpful and patient with me. He was knowledgeable in the area of kidney stones and made me feel at ease. Over the course of 4 years I had chronic recurring stones and made multiple trips to the OR. Dr. Borin took excellent care of me. I was very sad when he moved to New York. Jane M

Took care of my kidney stones. I was in terrible pain. He took care of the problem and blasted my stone with a lazer. I've changed my diet in hopes I can limit future stones.

I had a bladder stone that was her painful. Dr Borin really helped understand what was going on and how to deal with it. He is a doctor I have recommended to friends and family.

Always go with your gut, I did not. He has no, bedside manner, experience or talent. He operated to remove a tumor. Did not wait for frozen section results and they closed me. Weeks later I found it it was cancer. Months later I found out he left positive margins..aka microscopic cancer, that will return! Other docs have given me a 3-5 year survival chance...please stay away from him!

My initial reaction was to run. My first introduction he came in eating with food in his mouth.RUDE. He screwed up on my tumor. Did not mark the margins of the frozen section so when they came back positive. No one knew what to do ...where IS the cancer. NOR did he tell me my margins were positive! So NOW I have to wait for it to grow back, and it will because he never got rid of it. He also closed my incisions with material I was allergic to, written on my chart. Hs excuse to me was.....you know how people rush!!! OUTRAGEOUS! I have never heard ANY doctor say that to a patient as to why something bad was done. Every doctor I have seen since, has told me my case is difficult, because the right thing was done initially. Not a nice way to live just waiting for your cancer to come back and needing to have MAJOR surgery. RUN AWAY!

Had a stone removed in the morning and walked out at noon. Staff was very kind and explained the operation fully and checked and double checked my information.

Knows his stuff but seems bored and rushed. A real urology factory.
