Dr. James Carl Bozzuto, MD

I have never met with the Dr. However he was the on call doctor for mine over the weekend. I went to pick up a prescription on a Sat. Eve and was told there were no refills , I knew that it was a mistake So I spoke to the pharmacist , he suggested I call the on call Dr. The Phone call I received was like nothing I've ever expierenced ! He was screaming at me that how dare I call him on a Saturday Re: a prescription refill , it was for an anti anxiety med that I needed and how dare he judge me wasting his time without even listening to my situation ! I ended up hanging up on him . A can only say thank god my girlfriend has something I can take for my anxiety , maybe time to retire when you cant take a call when your on call and the patient is the one that needs to decide if it's an emergency .

I saw him only once. I took my seat, he took his, and for the rest of the visit he just sat their and stared at me. I didn't know what to say, and he didn't ask any questions. One hour of silence. Then my mother came in and wrote him a check (I was uninsured). He took it with a straight face. We were desperate and I needed help. My condition was/is severe and he didn't even bother trying to find out what it was let alone offer any kind of treatment or suggestions. Perhaps he decided he didn't want me as a patient. That's fine, but to make my mother pay for that is sick.

Dr. Bozzuto is excellent. There is hardly any waiting in his office. He is calm, which is reassuring. He once said to me, "We treat patients, not numbers" in reference to prescribing for me. He is extremely accessible and calls in a few hours always if I need to mention an issue between visits. He quickly and accurately remembers the details of my visits. He is very strict on the time of visits. He seldom gives me extra time at appointments (but that's understandable) yet he has no problem spending as much time on the phone with me between appointments. He keeps my appointments on track and does not go into irrelevancies with me. Much is covered in my appointments with no wasted time. I highly recommend him.

Very professional and intelligent. He is able to be supportive while remaining objective and very calm. He is a very good listener and it is surprising what he can recall from earlier visits. Always follows up and no waiting at all for appointments. A real human being while maintaining the necessary distance from the patient. Well read and experienced in his field.
