Dr. James Erle Bright, MD

In April I lost my job, my grandma passed away, and an immediate family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. I didn’t handle it well and accidentally missed two appointments, as a result I received a letter I was no longer welcome to see Dr Bright. I tried to pay for the missed appointments and explain the situation but zero leniency was given. For being a mental health provider, there is very little understanding given to mental health issues.

Dr Bright was my husbands psychiatrist. My husband was prescribed so much medication a pharmacist once told me if it increased anymore the pharmacist was going to refuse to fill it and call the doctor. At one point my husband chose to go off all meds but then called and told Dr Bright he wanted Prozac which Bright immediately prescribed (basically then it was self-prescribed!)! The literature on this medication says it can make many patients much more aggressive, which it did. Ended in divorce. My exhusband eventually physically attacked our 17 year old son and was charged with assault.

You want this Dr to perform miracles. you go to see him because YOU have issues. I saw him back in 2001. I do agree he will medicate you, turned me into a zombie as well but I am alive so he must have not been too bad.

He has made my life easier to deal with.

I am currently being treated by Dr. Bright and he has been WONDERFUL. He speaks in a very soothing and calming voice and smiles a lot making me feel at ease. He has been doing everything he can to help me. I don't feel at ease with most people but he has been so patient with me and never rushes me even though I know I chat a lot. He's very HUMAN and I don't feel judged. His staff is super nice and his office is quiet. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes. So far so good. Hope he keeps me as a patient because it's very hard for me to trust people. Thank you Dr. Bright for getting my life started over again.

I wouldn't even give this "doctor" one star. Didn't look at patient, only at his laptop while asking questions and taking notes - VERY IMPERSONAL!!!! I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. He shouldn't be practicing medicine here or anywhere. Assumed thoughts of patient and judged.

most self centered egotistical person you will ever meet spend 225 a visit to listed to him talk about himself and get prescribed another pill, was up to walking zombie before i figured out that to him its only about the money and no genuine concern for patients.

This man is a complete liar and wants to overmedicate his patients to a point of no return. He is an awful human. Never helped me and only hurt my health.

Does not answer phone calls even during buisness hours. You leave a message and your phone call is not returned. Does not listen to patients or even take the time to review chart before you come in, therefore asking redundant questions.. Some of which does not pertain to your psychiatric health and are inappropriate. Does not explain medications that are prescribed. Can become rude and hostile if you ask questions. Wait times are often over 45 minutes. Most appointments are 10-15 minutes with the Dr. Taking very little interest in the patient, seems to be in a hurry to write scripts and move on. Poor, Poor, Poor!!!

I know everyone has their own experiences and opinions, but I was shocked to read these reviews about Dr. Bright. He has never been anything but understanding and compassionate with me, has gotten me on the best medication cocktail I've ever had and has never once in all the YEARS I've been seeing him mentioned anything about church. He is by far the best psychiatrist I've ever seen, and I owe him for the life I've been able to build. I haven't always agreed with his recommended course of therapy, but in the end he's always been right.
