Dr. James Brinkruff, MD

One of the most abrasive, rudest, and uncaring health providers I have ever encountered!! I was working nights, and had been up all night, still in my work uniform. Stayed up beyond my bedtime, after working all night, came in hoping to receive some temporary relief for my planters fasciitis, until I could see my podiatrist. The pain from it was so bad, it radiated from my foot to almost the top of my leg. To clarify, this doctor is not my PCP, he was just the one available. He was curt, and seemed not to care when I was describing my symptoms. He offered a shot in my foot, to which I agreed. Before he injected my foot, I started to ask him a question about the shot (never having had this, and working a job constantly on my feet, I wanted to know if there were any adverse side effects) he literally flipped out, and snapped at me, yelling “THIS IS ALL I CAN DO, IF THIS ISN’T WHAT YOU WANT, YOU CAN LEAVE”. I was in so much pain I still wanted it. Though he never addressed any of my… concerns or questions, and after he yelled at me, I just wanted to get the shot and leave. I knew in that moment it was a mistake to have seen him. He made the visit really weird. He said he needed a “witness” to watch him put the injection in my foot. WHAT!?! I had to wait while he excited the room and beckoned some random woman to enter the room. She was never introduced to me, she just stood there as he proceeded to inject my foot. DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS TO THIS DOCTOR AS HE WILL SNAP AND FLIP OUT. Literally all I wanted to know is are there any known side effects and/or would it cause my foot to swell or do anything abnormal. The shot did work temporarily, but I do not recommend this provider. If you are looking for a kind and caring provider, look elsewhere; this guy is the opposite of that!! I ended up finally seeing my podiatrist, who is kind, caring, and got me fixed up; my podiatrist listens and genuinely cares, unlike Dr. Brinkruff. Some providers take the time, care, listen, and are there to help. Dr. Brinkruff is not one of these providers unfortunately. I recommend finding another provider.
