Dr. James Ernest Brown JR., MD

Would highly recommend Dr. Brown to anyone. He is very professional, very knowledgeable, caring and always listens to my concerns. I have several friends who are also patients of Dr. Brown - they feel the same as me. I certainly don't understand the negative remarks above!

As far as I know, he had his medical license suspended and he has been fired from his hospital and academic positions for repeatedly sexually assaulting multiple co-workers and using his power and position to keep them silent. If he is still in practice, be very careful around him.

I have never met such a cold and condescending doctor as dr. Brown. Dr. Brown refused to hear my concerns after being ill during my pregnancy. I had to be treated by my general practitioner who helped me get a new obstetrician in the middle of my pregnancy. He was just terrible.

TERRIBLE

Dr Brown makes me feel very comfortable, however he is very quick. he makes me feel as if he is always in a hurry.

I saw Dr. Brown when I was in the hospital preparing to be induced for labor with my second child. He was dismissive of my views, made me wiat over 2 hours to see me, told the nurses I was a "problem patient," called my doctor and told her I should be slated for c-section because I was "too old" and "too problematic" to be given a trial of labor. (I am 38 years old and had a perfectly normal, healthy pregnancy). All of this resulted from a question I had as to the medical necissity of a certain protocol. It was a question. Not a demand. A question. I experienced him as hostile to women and dismissive of his patents' agency. I am leaving the practice because of him. In the end, my own doctor did not take his advice and I delivered a healthy child without a c-section.

I saw Dr. Brown only because he was the doctor on call when I went in to labor, He was rude, disrespectful and did not listen to my wishes as a patient. Before he even examined me, he told me that he disagreed with my doctor's treatment plan and that no ,matter how hard I tried, I would never deliver this baby. He had already decided i should have a c-section, without regard to what ,my physician had stated.He also changed my treatment plan without consulting me or my doctor.He showed no respect for me or patient wishes. Several times he cut me off as I was speaking.If that was his medical opinion, that was fine, but there were many other ways to communicate that without being derisive of my and my doctor's decisions. His manner with me was condescending and inappropriate. I have never felt more demeaned or dismissed in my life.

When I first met Dr. James E. Brown. I didn't really know what to expect of him. But overtime I he really grew on me. I grew to respect him as a person and as a doctor. He really knows what he's doing. He delivered my first born and I was very grateful that he was the one to do it. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great OB/GYN. He is caring, attentive, intelligent, very professional in what he does.
