Dr. James Ryan Burke

Dr Burke saved my life. Plain and Simple. I needed bypass surgery and was assigned Dr Burke. He is not warm and fuzzy. That is for other specialty physicians. Go to them for warm and fuzzy. I will take Dr Burke who obviously paid attention in school and is one terrific surgeon. As I said, he saved my life and I am forever grateful.

Dr. Burke was called upon to do a very difficult surgery in my case. I already had a descending aortic dissection for 13 years, before he undertook my OHS to replace my bicuspid (supposed to be a tricuspid valve) and repair my aorta. He also found and repaired a hole in my heart and did 1 bypass. He was very confident but assuring and made no false promises. An overall great surgeon!!

CALLED HIS OFFICE TO FOLLOW UP ON A SCHEDULED VISIT, WAS PUT ON HOLD FOR 15 MINS, NO ONE PICKED UP. CALLED BACK SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE PUT ON HOLD, FINALLY A LADY NAMED BRITTANY ANSWERED THE PHONE AND WAS NICE ENOUGH TO HELP ME. SOME OF HIS STAFF LACK PATIENT RELATIONS SKILLS

Dr. Burke spent 25 minutes in the room with me, patiently answering my questions and explaining my status and the procedures ahead. I don't know any other doctor (let alone a surgeon) who has given me that much time. Dr. Burke performed vascular surgery (abdominal aortic aneurysm and 2 iliac aneurysms) and I'm glad he was the surgeon. I would recommend Dr. Burke without reservation.
