Dr. James Bruce Bussel, MD

Dr. Bussel became my doctor when I was 16 in 1986. We were recommended to him and were clueless about what really to expect. Dr. Bussel and his team of doctors/student doctors and nurses were able to diagnosis the rare disease I had. Little did we know the first day we went to his office was the beginning of an extraordinary patient-doctor relationship. He not only saved my life.... he has become a HUGE PART of all the incredible milestone I've experienced throughout my entire life. He is an extraordinary doctor with his own style of treatment. Waiting is part of the dynamics of being one of his patients but if you want the BEST CARE this is not a problem. He is TOP of the line....super intelligent... he really is BRILLANT!!! He cares for his patients. He has his own corny sense of humor which you'll get used to. Dr. Bussel is known through out the world. I can not recommend him enough... He will always be a HERO to me. I was very disappointed with the wait time and initial visit with Dr. Bussel. I researched and was told he was the best, if waiting for over 3 hours to be seen is standard, then I will gladly take second best. During our initial visit where a doctor is usually gathering important information and background, he was interupted 4 times, once to schedule a speaker for a gala-2 phone calls and 2 knocks at the door. I understand doctors need to make themselves available for emergencies but this was excessive and in my opinion unnecessary, especially when I had been waiting for over 3 hours.One of his teenaged patients told me she scheduled her appointments later in the day because the wait time was always incredibly long.His staff were exceptionally polite and caring.

My daughter was under his care during her teen years, he treated her as an adult, letting her be apart of the process. She was on an experimental drug and full care was given in any poor outcomes.My daughter made it into her 20's and has been in remission since.
