Dr. James King Byrd, MD

Dr. Byrd, his office staff, and medical staff are always professional. He takes time to answer all my questions as does his staff. I have never had an issue with this office or anyone in the office. I usually get an appointment as soon as needed although on occasion I may have to wait one day. I am able to leave messages to get RX meds refilled as needed. Dr. Byrd always does a good job referring me to a specialist if one is needed.

I had always good experience with Dr. James K. Byrd himself. However, his nurse (especially the one with red hair) always treated me worst. Furthermore, Dr. Byrd instructed his Nurse to provide me for accessing his medical portal. I have asked and reminded his nurse a few times personally and called his office by phone stating I need to access Dr. Byrd medical portal to review my lab reports. She never provided me to access my medical portal for reviewing my lab test results. I believe Dr. Byrd has issues to align a total good patient service with his stuff. So, I will no longer go to his office.

Dr. Byrd and his staff are the best. I never have to wait, knows his business and always so friendly.

I had the absolute worst experience during my visit to Dr. Byrd,s office. For starters his red headed nurse with the frizzy hair is so rude and and treated me in the worst possible way. My workout partner recommended me to his office and I went to see him for my annual physical. While I waited in the room I could hear the nurse arguing with Dr. Byrd about taking new patients. The nurse came in and looked me up and down as if she was a jealous girlfriend. I asked for a breast exam because I have an abnormal lump and his nurse stormed out of the room to my surprise. After my appointment I was walking down the hall and I could see Dr. Byrd in a room with the door cracked, embracing the red headed nurse!!!! A few weeks later I received a letter stating he would no longer see me as a patient. I am beyond disgusted!

Dr. Byrd is fantastic. He listens to his patients, remembers everything from previous visits, and wants patients involved in their care.

Literally the best doctor

He doesn't seem to be able to keep the same staff. Every time I go in, there's a new girl at the window. The only one I've seen repeatedly is his nurse Jennifer, and she's really good. Like another review said, she is really good at explaining things because he does talk really fast and doesn't stay in the room long enough. She explains my medicines to me and is really nice. I have several family member who have had the same experience with her and love her. He's just mediocre.

Takes the time to get to know the patient.

Dr. Byrd is a good doctor but a weak person. He believes without question everything that his nurse tells him even if it is not the truth. My family was dropped as patients because his nurse said I was rude on the telephone. I was assertive but not rude. Dr. Byrd did not bother to contact me to discuss the issue I was having, he just dropped us as patients.

I feel Dr. Byrd is smart and knowledgeable but he talks way too fast for me to understand. I've had many calls in to his nurse and she has been very helpful and takes time explaining things to me. Because of her my kidneys are doing better because of what she told me to do with drinking too much coffee. I do get in and out very fast when I see him but I probably would go to someone else if I didn't have his nurse helping me so much.
