At first..... the I was skeptical. my initial appointment lasted I THINK about 10 minutes. and I have Lupus. I thought wow how could he know anything about me in 10 minutes. But let me tell you something........This guy is medical minded. He is good. he pretty much was able to tell me what was possibly going on before my labs came back. The office is VERY busy because it is the only Rhumatology place in the area but the appointment with him, that I waited 2.5 months for was worth the wait. he was smart and choosy about the medication that he put me on. he was funny and nice. He even apologized that life had me on a rough track. I personally LOVE that there was some laughter and break of being a Patient. I know he is busy... but I drive 2.5 hours to get to him because he is good. He knows what is going on, and has done his homework. I am so thankful I was able to get into him.

I’ve seen Dr. Byrd for several years. He always takes time with me and doesn’t prescribe any medication until he has as thoroughly researched my present and past medical history and discussed potentialities with us both agreeing on the course of treatment. I’ve never been rushed through an appointment, but it’s possibly due to my HOH condition. I’m also nosy probing his superior and vast bank of knowledge. His sense of humor is always apparent making an appointment the highlight of my day, unless I stop at Visconti’s or Iwa for lunch, then it’s a toss up. If you need a rheumatologist in North Central Washington he’s the one, but don’t expect any instantaneous results. He is thorough and without a complete understanding of your specific medical condition follows the first law of medicine, cause no harm.

I have been of Dr Byrd for a fee years now. He has always given me exceptional care & very througho.

When first started going Dr Byrd he was my Dr House and i was so relieved finally have a great Dr for my autoimmune diseases BUT the last couple years it has been horrid. I drove 2 1/2 hrs to see him for maybe 5 - 10 mins tops. He doesn't really treat what is going on because he is too rushed n no longer listening to his patients. He proved that when he filled out needed paperwork incorrect moments after discussing it for the 2nd time. He went from a wonderful Dr to a factory Dr.. Maybe the change from Wenatchee Valley to Confluence made it all about the $$ n not about patient care because ruined n robbed his patients of adequate treatment and a wonderful Dr. It's still evident he cares about his patients but doesn't have time for them.

The doctor rushes you in and out as quickly as possible. Usually, a first appointment is the longest where the doctor asks a lot of questions and gets to know you, but all of my appointments including the first were the shortest doctor appointments I have ever had. At my first appointment I tried to go over all my symptoms with him, but he cut me off, and just diagnosed me. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The doctor always gives you paper work about the diagnosis or medication, but doesn't talk to you about either one. He is 'kind' but 'disrespectful' at the same time. It appears as if he has allotted 5-7 minutes for the patient, and nothing is going to hold him up. It is shocking to have seen this from a specialist.

This was my first visit and I am very pleased with the dr. and his facility and staff.

Too busy of a man. Too many patients. Good doc, I'm sure, but I feel rushed in, rushed out, and like I am telling him what is on my chart. 3 different times I made phone calls to him and no return call on any of them (although he specifically said, call me if there are any issues). Disappointed.

Some visits it seems like he doesn't know who I am. He needs to read my chart faster before he enters! I am frustrated by the lack of information or explanation of what tests he has done and why and the meaning of the results. I only get the results of the normal battery of blood tests but not the specialized ones.He does do required follow up very concientiously.
