I found Dr. Cantrell to be arrogant and resistant to being asked questions about medications. When questioned about side effects of medications, he was dismissive. He seemed forgetful of previous information and spent time praising the effects of steroids on his neck problems. Retiring was the best thing he ever did.

It should not upset you when a family member asks you a question; this is your specialty, not ours! We're not questioning your judgement, we just need information. Maybe if you offered some education up front, we wouldn't need to ask those questions. Your unwillingness to educate or to answer questions makes you look petty & insecure, which is not what I'm looking for when I place my parent's life in your hands.

I was cancer free for 6 yrs until this arrogant, unfeeling, rude idiot came into my life. Moved to B'ham area and needed an onc for screening purposes only. All screenings were normal until he took me off my medication that was working for me and put me on tamoxifen. A very short 4 mo later I have been diag with stage IV advanced breast cancer. He then had the nerve to say "start back on the arimidex it seems like that was working for you". Now I will not see my little boy grow up and all the wonderful things life has to offer him. Do not let this man near you.

Dr. Cantrell is a great Dr who took time with me to explain every step of my treatment. He also referred me to another Hospital when my cancer returned and I was able to have a stem cell transplant. I appreciate everything he has done for me and helping me become cancer free.

I had nothing but a great experience with Dr. Cantrell and his office (and my follow-up visits are no exception). EVERYONE bent over backwards to make me feel the best I could under the circumstances. I would recommend Dr. Cantrell to anyone.

My cancer diagnosis was devastating news. Dr. Cantrell helped make a very difficult situation bearable. He inspired me to fight hard and came up with a great treatment plan. Together, we beat my cancer. He is such a kind man, and very smart. God bless Dr. Cantrell!
