Dr. James Gerald Carlisle, MD

James Carlisle, MD, a Huntsman Cancer Institute physician, is an assistant professor and chief of interventional radiology in the Department of Radiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.He specializes in the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer patients, focusing on the latest methods of cancer therapy, including minimally invasive techniques such as radiofrequency ablation and chemoembolization. Carlisle's clinical interests center on the management and treatment of uterine fibroid-related symptoms and other gynecologic and fertility issues. He maintains an active inpatient and outpatient clinical service, including the interventional radiology clinic.Carlisle graduated with a BS in molecular biology from the University of Michigan and received his MD from the School of Medicine there. He completed residency at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, and a fellowship in interventional radiology at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, …Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah, Carlisle was a member of a large private group practice associated with Northeastern Ohio University and College of Medicine.
