Dr. James Edward Carlson, DO

Dr. Carlson was a great physician, he took his time to listen to your problems and did the best to help. If you needed a letter or anything he was non hesitant and never seemed annoyed... He always had a smile and was very pleasant. In my eyes he was the best Dr I've ever had. With that being said, the receptionists were horrible! The medical assistants were very friendly and professional, but the receptionists were horrible! They were rude, not accommodating and very unprofessional! They did not reflect who Dr Catlson was. Anyhow, he was great, but something big must have happened for him to suddenly just leave his practice, without letting his patients know and giving them at least a month to find someone new. I had an appointment I show up and the receptionists just tells me to read a flyer/note that was at the window. It was a letter from Dr.Carlson stating, that he was sorry to have leave, but that we would be in great hands with the new dr.'s on board (which I totally despised… btw) needless to say I was shocked, and saddened by this news. I gave the new Dr.'s a chance, but was discouraged with their nasty attitude. Dr. Carlson if you read this, I hope you are in a better state of mind and I hope your problems have resolved and I hope you never abandon your patients like that ever again! Not nice! Especially because we really loved you! Best of luck where ever you may be!

I called to get results from a number of tests Dr. Carlson suggested I have done, in his office. I waited two months, after repestedly calling to get the results. The tests were done back in April. When I called two weeks ago, I was told he up & left the practice. Basically gave his staff a days notice - forget about his patients. Needless to say, I will be seeking another Doctor, along with my medical records. This doctor difinitely went off the deep end!! The staff was very rude at my last visit. I later found out, the rude receptionist was his wife. She should be ashamed!!!

I have been a patient for over 12 years. I followed him when he moved from office to office. I thought I had a very good relationship with him. The office staff has always been less than perfect, but for him it worked. I reccomended many of my friends at least (6-8) because I thought he was the best. Something happened with him, he stopped caring. I was sick in January, needed to see him and couldn't get an appointment for a week. I was told go to Stat Med. I asked to talk to him, he never returned my call. I asked if I could get an antibiotic because I knew I had a sinus infection. His staff told me he refused and repeated I should go to Stat Med. I called 1 last time asking that he call me back, give me an appointmet or help in some way or I would be looking for a new Doctor. The person on the phone claimed that the Doctor was standing right behind while he was talking to me on the phone, was aware of my problem and couldn't answer me. I asked that he get my chart ready I would be in… to get my records and not be returning to them as a patient. I asked that he tell Dr. Carlson what I was saying and ask him one last time to call me, he did and the Dr. only shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I then told the person on the phone to tell the Doctor he aught to be ashamed of himself. Thats how I feel, He should be ashamed of himself and embarrased that he behaved so badly. It didn't end there, I had to make 3 phone calls and wait 4 weeks to get my records for which I was charged somewhere around $50.00 for copies. God help the man he must be losing his mind.

Dr. Carlson and the NPs are very knowledgeable and friendly... However, I was to be 15 minutes late for an appt because I was delayed coming from work at another hospital. I asked for 15 minute delay and was told no. I explained I was having severe knee pain from previous surgeries and was told to go to STAT CARE, as I would have to schedule another appt and none was open until 8 days from now. It is difficult to get an appointment and office staff is not accommodating even if you are in pain. I switched my whole family of six (4 being children) from this practice.... God forbid I needed to contact the office for an urgent care visit for one of them. It's a shame, because the practitioners are great, but office hours and staffing are terrible!
