Dr. James Anthony Carr, MD

This is an awful doctor office. I had an appointment with Dr. Carr and was late a few minutes I insisted the receptionist to see Dr. , but she refused and I had rescheduled.On July 11, I called to confirm appointment, they said my appointment on August 8, not July 11. I called again to confirm an appointment for August the receptionist, manager told me I do not have an appointment on August. Almost 6 months , I was not able to see Dr. Carr.

was referred to this doctor by St Joseph Hospital for a biopsy to see if the cyst that I have covering my uterus and ovaries were cancer. When I called the receptionist who answered the phone who later told me she was also the office manager explain to me that the doctor was out of the office for 3 weeks. She offered nothing else, so I called back at the hospital. 3 hours later after spending 3 hours trying to get another referral, only to find out that there actually was a doctor on call for Dr Carr his name was Dr. Negron. It is very clear to me now why Dr cars receptionist did not give me the referral to Dr Negron. It is because they all want to turn people away whom are uninsured/ and even if it is a life threatening situation. It is painfully obvious that the doctors that the ER are sending us to to protect our lives.. hey don't want to help us and they are sticking together and they are helping each other do so. I was left with the decision of having to return to the ER to… ask for another referral for a doctor who that WAS available to see me for an examination for a biopsy but before I did that I wanted to call back at Dr Carrs office to see if I can ask a question to determine whether or not it would be worth my while. Dr Cars receptionist got frustrated with me when I asked her the question which was " if dr. Car had have been available, would I been able to get an examination?" she did not want to answer my question. Instead she kept explaining to me that that would depend on my situation. I asked her a yes or no question again a 2nd time, but this time saying "please ma'am I beg you" and she said nothing but hung up on me. I am mediately called back and she tried to tell me that it was the other person on the other line that I must have been speaking to and I could not speak with that person because she was on another line.. that it wasn't her. Even though I recognized her voice. So I made a second trip to the ER to get a second referral only to find out that it was for Dr Negron. I explained to the ER doctor that that doctor had already turned me away but the ER doctor explain to me that by law they had to see me at least one time, so I then called back at Dr. Negron's office & the receptionist remember me from the previous day she started shouting and saying miss I have already told you what to do and she repeated she told me to get in my car and drive myself to the clinic, because they were not going to help me without insurance. heading back tears feeling desperate and humiliated and in pain feeling like giving up but wanting to keep fighting for my sanity for the fact that I am a single mother who values my life.. I've then called back to Dr Carr's office. I ask to make an appointment & his receptionist then replied "I was mistaken yesterday when I told you that he was out for 3 weeks he's actually on sick leave you will not be able to make an appointment at all at any time because we don't know when he will be back" wow THAT is what she said. I guess this receptionist /office manager, did not realize when she made that statement.. that she totally gave her self away as the person who spoke to me the day before whom also hung up on me. Keep in mind this is the same person who I explained to that I also suffer from PTSD and that I was desperate for help because I was in severe pain.

A great Dr just be warned he has really big hands!!!!

I saw Dr. Carr for both of my pregnancies, if I had not opted for a tubal ligation I would be going back to him for the third. He is a great doctor, passionate about his work & down to earth. Makes you feel comfortable throughout the pregnancy and afterwards. In my opinion he's the best in Savannah, family members have used other doctors and their experiences are of no comparison.
