Amazing doctor and team! !I had a large acoustic neuroma removed by Dr. Chandler last week. He was able to preserve my hearing and facial function. I was told he was the best and it is true!!

mary ellen maher, his nurse practitioner left a staple in my head for two additional months. I could have had a skin infection. He is a very skilled surgeon, but he does not examine his patients. He just does the surgery.

I was referred to Dr. Chandler for something that was found on my MRI/CT Scan. I made the appointment and arrived on time and was able to see him about 15 to 20 minutes after my appointment which is understandable. He had my images ready to review on the screen and his Asst. and APN were great by keeping me informed of what was going on. Dr. Chandler came into the room and informed me what his recommendations were and answered all my question nice man and straight to the point. His team works as team players.

I had a very complicated awake surgery two years ago. It was a second one for me, so we were looking for a really professional doctor who knows his job very well, we were not looking for compassion or convinient hours or for apologies for being late. He did everything he could and even more and I needed only 3 days to recover.

I was referred to see Dr. Chandler from my neurologist for Chiari I Malformation. I waited over an hour and a half in the lobby until I was brought to the room. The only saving grace of this visit was his amazing nurse. She would periodically come out to the lobby and let me know he’s moving along...slowly. His APN, Mary Ellen, wasn’t much better. She came in before he did and said “tell me quickly why you’re here.” I was immediately off-put by her comment! I told her my diagnosis and started going over my symptoms that have been worsening. She interrupted me after listing 2 symptoms and said, “how many more?” I told her I typed up all my symptoms and handed her the sheet. She took it and said he’ll be in shortly. Wow...that’s an impressive patient medical history she got! I’m a vet nurse and take very thorough histories, so I would expect an APN to get a thorough history since this was the first time I’m seeing Dr. Chandler. About 25 minutes later, Dr. Chandler finally graced… me with his presence. He immediately had a very condescending attitude and didn’t even apologize for running sooooo late! I wouldn’t have minded him running late if he gave me the quality time and did a full exam (neurological). Instead, it seemed he came in with his own diagnosis and treatment plan already made up without even talking to me! He explained my condition in about 30 seconds. The nurse pulled up my MRI on the screen but he didn’t review it with me. He contradicted what the radiologist found on the MRI. He didn’t ask me my symptoms and as I started telling him the laundry list of symptoms I have, he interrupted me after a few and said those aren’t from the condition. The only physical contact he had with me was pushing on 2 spots on the back of my head and determined from this that I have a different condition. He wanted to refer me to a pain specialist at a different hospital for nerve block injections. I told him that my insurance doesn’t cover nerve blocks nor the hospital he referred me to. His only suggestion was to call my insurance and see if I can get in with this dr. Hmmmm...wonder if he and this other “dr” are in cahoots together??? In any case, do NOT go see Dr. Chandler. His awful bedside manner, condescending and rude attitude will get you nowhere! I already placed a call to see a different neurosurgeon for a 2nd opinion. The new neurosurgeon’s nurse got a full medical history over the phone with me already and we’re in the process of setting up an appointment.

I’ve been now waiting for an hour and a half to see him. I’m not impressed so far by his callous disregard for his patient’s lives.

I was referred to see Dr Chandler regarding a decision to possibly get surgery. He kept me waiting for an hour in the inner office and his office visit lasted 17 minutes and offered no apology or explanation for the wait. I found him to be arrogant and rude, he seemed distant and didn't appear to be interested in my situation and even suggested I go to a different hospital to see another surgeon that I met for 5 minutes, as he assisted in an acoustic neuroma procedure 2 years ago and have not had any further contact with. He said to see that surgeon first and if he was not interested then he would operate on me. How is that supposed to instill confidence in him as my doctor. I did not select Dr Chandler, he was referred a week earlier. His office contacted me to get an audiogram and other tests prior to seeing him. This was curious since when I saw him he acted like I was intruding on his time. Instead of answering questions about my condition, I left his office more confused than… when I went in. This was the worst experience that I ever had with a medical professional.

I highly recommend Dr. Chandler. At a time when I was extremely afraid of going through a medical crisis, Dr. Chandler’s thorough, calming, professional explanation of my situation put my fears to rest.

I made the mistake of seeing Dr. Chandler in hopes of receiving a better understanding a tumor that has developed. Rather than receive information I was treated as if slow and was extreamly rude towards me. He kept me wait 1.5hrs, which I wouldn’t have minded had he just treated me with some compassion. However, during the whole visit was Dr. Chandler was condescending, rude and arrogant. The only thing I’ll hand him is that he did an excellent job of living up to the erogant surgeon stereotype. His staff and residences are lovely. I’m sorry that they work for him. I can’t imagine the amount abuse they must face on a regular bases. Please do not see this doctor! He’s not good for people!
