Dr. James Chung, DPM

Dr. James Chung completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Tech where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, & exercise with a minor in Medicine & Society. He was a recipient of the Scholar in Health Studies Honors Diploma and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. After Virginia Tech, Dr. Chung earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City where he graduated in the top 10 of his class with Cum Laude honors while receiving numerous scholarships and awards. Dr. Chung went on to complete his residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Northern Virginia. During training, he earned Resident of the Year honors and served as Chief Resident. His training focused on complex surgical reconstruction of the foot & ankle including total ankle replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgical techniques, arthroscopic surgery, and Charcot foot reconstruction. He is active in research …and is an author of a number of publications and posters in peer-reviewed journals and national conferences. As an attending physician, he continues to play an active role in the training and education of residents at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Dr. Chung is from Oakton, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, Washington DC sports, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Rufus.
