Dr. James Ciulla, MD

One of only a handful of preventive whole health doctors in my area. Nothing but good things to say about him and his assistant.

After months of trying to get an appointment through the clinic in the area we were recommended to call him. I looked at reviews and wasn't sure but had no other choice because my problems weren't being fixed and I needed to find out what was causing this. We got right in and he does a full physical and then went back and he talked to me about what it could be and also kept working with me and treating me with respect and got me into see another doctor in Terre Haute to help with some of my problems. They worked together. Within a month a started feeling like a new person. He explains things in detail and keeps on top of things. He did change my diet and had me excercise and had me taking other supplements. My mind started feeling less stress and I wasn't tired all the time from all the drugs the other doctors just kept giving me. I went from 5 medications and sometimes 6 down to 2. I feel like a different person. He still is working with me and slowly we are focused on me… getting stronger so I don't have problems again.

Excellent caring physician. Spends time, explains disease process so patients can understand it. Devises a tailored comprehensive plan, that the patient can follow. Makes himself available 24 hrs day..and one can even call him at home. A rare breed, Dr. Ciulla.Re: his Medical school rank..what was it when he graduated, as opposed to now..after all he has been in Medicine for 43 years. This shouldn't matter however..there are bad docs from good schools and great docs from mediocre schools. Nevertheless, is is extremely difficult to get into med school..even to this day..sooo..not sure aout the med school ratings here..esp when not compared to when the doctor attended. Dr. Ciulla also attended Columbia University..nothing to sniff at here..an IVY league university, and he attended Stuyvesant High School, where only the best and brightest in the state of NY attend.

This guy thinks the answer to every health problem is by prescribing herbal supplements, and telling people to go on insane diet regimens, ie..2-3 day fasts. Turned out my husband needed open heart BYPASS SURGERY!!! He shouldn't have a license -stay far away from this one
