Dr. James Loran Cockrell Jr, MD

Over the years, I have been at this practice at least 3 times and my father twice for routine tests. I have never seen a bad doctor there until I took my father for his most recent tests. He saw Dr. Cockrell. What a waste of time. I think this doctor spent all of 7 minutes between two appts. with my father. During the last appt (today) for the follow-up and discussion of results, he never once asked my father how he was feeling. Instead, he stated that it was good news and we should be happy about that. When I stated that my father was still not feeling well and what recommendations could he make..he stated that he was a heart doctor and that he could only discuss heart related issues. Never once in my entire 51 years have I heard a doctor say this. He has zero bedside manner and I completely question his knowledge as a doctor. I don't think I've ever left a bad review for a doctor until now.

He admitted me to the hospital and I saw him for two follow up visits. He refused to provide me with a diagnosis and simply told me to drink more fluids. When I still had symptoms of fainting and tachycardia, he suggested it was depression, and continued to refuse to share a diagnosis. He lost his temper and threatened me during the visit for continuing to ask questions. I have serious concerns about seeing a doctor who does not consider the patient as part of the team. I have since changed cardiologists.
