Dr. James Thomas Collier, MD

My 87 year old father was recently dropped as a patient because blue cross blue shield which is an Amazing insurance provider does not pay the doctor as much as he wants. The doctor only wants Medicare payments or Medicaid. My father has been going to this doctor for many many years. My father and his Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits through retirement for working for the city for well over 30 years. They’ve never heard or been as disgusted by a greedy doctor in my life. This is absolutely disgusting. Shame on you.

This Jerk of a Dr has terrible bed-side manners and seems VERY unsure of himself and profession. Maybe age is catching up with him, but don't waste time.

Terrible bedside manner.

Generally the staff is adequate, however they frequently interrupt the doctor when he is with patients. Repeatedly speaks to patients in medical terms and has to be asked to explain. Regularly overbooks which causes long waits to see him. When one finally gets to see him, he frequently leaves to speak with others or talk on the phone. When he returns, he is not apologetic and continues as if he has not been away. Becomes upset if a patient expresses displeasures with his pattern of unacceptable behavior. Humiliates patients in the presence of staff and others. Contrary to rules of confidentiality, he routinely discusses patientâ??s ailments, treatments and private discussions while the door to treatment room is open or when he is at the nurseâ??s desk where anyone can hear. He is seldom prepared when meeting with patients. He relies on the patient to tell what medications were prescribed, discontinues and what instructions were given at the last visit rather than checking his… own records. Often denies having received reports or records from other doctors or sources when the information is in his records and has not been reviewed by him.

Dr. Collier is as thorough as it gets!. He is caring. He is a good listener . He spents time with each person, his wait times may be long, but he is thorough.

I moved to town 1 year ago and became a patient of Dr Collier. His staff has been so helpful with my many needs as I am suffering from multiple medical issues. They follow through with my requests and make sure my health needs are met. With the number of patients sometimes it takes a few hours for the answer to come but it always if followed up on. I really appreciate all they do.

The staff is great and make time to answer questions even when they are obviously busy. Sometimes they call with results at 7 or 8pm so I don't have to worry and wonder overnight or over a weekend what my reports showed. The wait time is sometimes long but the Dr. always gives me time when it is my turn with him.

Tried to pressure me into a procedure which scared me. Fortunately, I found another doctor who advised me of my options and helped me make a decision I was comfortable with.

Dr Collier and his staff are very thorough and compassionate people. They have called me and the doctor gets right on the phone if I need him. They always make room for sick patients to be seen right away no matter how busy.

Tries to intimidate and manipulate patients.Orders tests. When they come back negative he orders more tests.
