Dr. James Langston Cowan III, MD

DR. COWAN IS THE BEST!!! MY CHILD LOVES HIM.

I feel that Dr. Cowan is an excellent pediatrician and my little four year old son just adores him.

After seeing a few doctors in Memphis and not being satisfied, I finally came across Dr. Cowan and have been with him for 14 years!! He is HANDS DOWN THE BEST. His bedside manner is like no other I have ever seen period. The fact that he knows all 3 of my children before he looks at the chart was enough for me. He sincerely cares for every child that he sees. Yes, you will have to wait a while but I think for peace of mind of knowing your child will get the best possible care for me, is worth the wait!!!

Dr. Cowan has been a part of my family for 15 years. He has taken care of my son and daughter. He has wonderful bedside manners. He is extremely personable. Dr. Cowan knows what is going on in each of their lives. My son broke his hip but I did not know. I took him to the ortho specialist. I also called Dr. Cowan to let him know what was happening. When he got the report from that doctor, it was not what he wanted to hear. The time frame for follow-up care was not what he wanted. He called another physician and we were seen immediately instead of 2 weeks later. He called every other day to make sure my son was okay. I appreciate the care he has shown to my kids and my family. I hate that my kids are getting older and soon will not be with him!

I have never waited to be seen from a doctor for an hour before until I came to this office. He is very knowledgeable but does not have any professionalism. When I told him I have to go he started a debate with me on time. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr. Cowan is a good doctor as far as diagnosing the problem and trying to solve it. However, he is very insensitive towards the needs of his patients and even unfriendly at times.

I moved to Memphis 9 years ago and until I visited Dr. Cowan's office, I had not been pleased with any of the pediatric care here in Memphis. My co-worker referred me to Dr. Cowan. She told me I might have to wait a while, but it the visit would be worth the wait. Everything she said was true. Dr. Cowan is honest, caring, patient, and very attentive with each patient he serves. When he first met my boys, he talked to them and got to know them and made them feel comfortable. He then gave them a VERY VERY THOROUGH examination. I was so impressed, relieved, and overwhelmed. My children had not seen a doctor be this caring and observant since we moved from Clarksdale, MS. He also asked me several questions before he diagnosed my children. Dr. Cowan is accurate in diagnostics and treatment and his bedside manner is wonderful. He also remembered the boys when he saw them again. They actually like going to the doctor now!
