Dr. James DeCaestecker, DO

I suffered with diverticulitis, no meds were working. He performed a bowel resection once, and gave me back my life.

Dr. Decaestecker saved my Husband's life. He was in the hospital and had a GI bleed , actually 3 times he bled out . They did several procedures to try and stop the bleed and finally this DR. did the surgery to close the bleed . My Husband was very close to death at this point . I am very grateful to DR. Decaestecker for saving his life ! . We were blessed to have him there.

He is not the first general surgeon I've been to but he is the Best I've been to. The staff at his office and at Good Samaratin Hospital were the Best too

Dr. Decaestecker was the surgeon on call when I went to the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital. He diagnosed a hernia and I mentioned some other issues I'd seen 4 other doctors for....the other doctors all refused to help. He assured me that it wouldn't be an issue and he would be able to help. Dr. Decaestecker repaired the hernia and did several more surgeries. They were life changing for me...I had a poor quality of life and now I'm living my life again. He was always informative and treated me with respect and kindness. I'm grateful for all he did to help me regain my life.

He was the ER surgeon on call the night my father came in. He NEVER ONCE seen my fathers face. He sent Dr Abtahi a resident in to check on my father. He finally showed up in ICU after a procedure went wrong and my father coded on the table and was placed on a ventalator against his wishes. He was brain dead and Dr Decastecker refused to sign the paper work to take him off the vent. for two days even though we the whole family said this is not his wishes and with his living will there in his chart. He never once said he was sorry that this happend to my father, he was cold and had no bedside manner to speak of. he stood in the doorway never once did he ever touch my father. But we got a bill in the mail just this week for Dr Decastecker for his care of my father!!He does not care what your wishes are only his, he does not have compassion for the family of his patients. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

Dr. Decaestecker has great bedside manner and was very courtesous. He spent time examining me and tried to make a good proper diagnosis. He also gave me several follow-up tests to have done.

Dr. De Caestecker is a fine surgeon. I appreciate the way he treated my wife regarding my condition post surgery and I felt well informed of what to expect. As a note, I will share, I have now had five abdominal surgeries in the past five years. He preformed the latest procedure and everything from the pre operation process to being released from the hospital was as smooth as could be imagined. Thanks doc.!
