Dr. James Alan Deutsch, MD

I saw Dr. Deutsch a few years ago, and had nothing but the best as far as having a strabismus repair surgery and every follow-up visit. Short wait times, friendly staff, and Dr. Deutsch himself is top-notch.

I wish I could give 5 stars but his staff is what forces me to give them just 3 stars.. I have been a Deutsch patient for almost 20 years and the decline of his office staff is unspeakable to say the least. However, Dr. Deutsch is the reason we come to this office, HIM in particular has a world class presence and sincere concern for his patients eye health. He is beyond thorough with care for your eyes and overall patient. I wish he had a office staff that match the experience you have with him. On the other hand if you wait on a phone call from the office about an appointment or follow-up you may as well sit in his office and wait for him to come out and let him know you need to see him because they are simply to say the ABSOLUTE WORST. I am so disappointed and I have been going through this over the years but I am finally fed up with their crap and I hope this does not hinder DR. Deutsch from continuing to give his patients the care that he gives them. A reorg is definitely needed.

the doctor is amazing but his staff is the most unfriendly collection of socially awkward people i have ever encountered. no one greets you. no one looks you in the eye. they huddle in the back eating soup and talking about their weekends. im convinced this borderline autism is something they learn in medical assisting school because its everywhere i go. but the crisis in this office is an epidemic of overbooking. an office catering to children and the elderly needs a faster turn over time. people with canes standing because there is no room to sit? no worries, as long as the staff can eat everything is all good. also the cranky signs that cover everything are a real delight. nothing like a scolding while you wait.

HE IS A VERY CARING AND PATIENT DOCTOR. YOU NEVER WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR CHILD BUT WHEN MY DAUGHTER MET HIM AT 4 YRS OLD SHE WAS AT EASE. HE MADE HER COMFORTABLE & WAS REASSURING. HE EXPLAINED SHE NEEDED GLASSES AND MADE HER EXCITED TO BE GETTING THEM. HE HAS A GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER AND TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT WAS WRONG UNTIL I COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD. i AM THANKFUL FOR THE CARE HE CONTINUES TO GIVE HER.

Excellent physician, but secretary is very rude. She has no customer service skills at all! Did not try to make an effort to make appointments.
