Dr. James Vincent Donovan, MD

James V. Donovan, MD, was my "doctor" for approximately 10 years. I didn't know during that time that he is a homosexual nor that he is married to a man, as I spoke about male issues in confidence with him. He specifically made insults towards me, including when I was engaged to a woman that I asked him about during our relationship. I feel betrayed by him and others in his profession. He had relayed to me a story about one of his patients who was patently a pedophile and caught making films of young boys. I was taking drugs that he was prescribing to me at the time, and considered myself socially liberal like he, but he made it quite clear to me that he felt that that man should not have been arrested by the police for such acts. That, I now find offensive. Dr. Donovan had lied about his academic credentials on the Internet at least which he now has rectified apparently, and accused me, after he "fired" me of calling him incessantly and leaving threatening messages. NEVER did… I make those calls that he accused me of, after we parted ways He had left that message on my answering machine, when I got back from travel to Canada. He mentioned in his message that he was "good friends" with my then city's District Attorney, and if I didn't "stop calling him" and leaving messages, that DA would come to my home and knock down the door and have me arrested. He had also gone on record saying that “some ‘mentally ill’ person is (lying) about me. I have no need to lie about him, his reputation speaks for itself.

Just informed by my primary doctor that I will not be seeing one-third of the time I may have left to live because DrDonovan poisioned me with Lithium Also I have 4 th stage Kidney disease and diabetes directly attributable to taking the Lithium for 20 years My friend just died from taking Lithium. The Dr is a good talker, but doesn’t know anything about the drug he prescribed to me. So in that respect he’s kind of a con man/psychologist but a doctor he is not quailed. Oh, and I can’t have sex because of what Dr Donovan prescribed me. Took 9 months to de-tox my Brain

Dr. Donovan helped save my son's life when he was a teenager. He is now 39 and doing very well.

He will drug you up and dismiss your symptoms as not being from the drugs. Hands out dangerous benzo drug prescriptions like candy. Stay away from this guy unless you want your life ruined

For several years I saw Dr. Donovan, at my appointments we mainly spoke about his life, so I can tell you all about him. He frequently used the "F" word during our sessions. When I was having a medical emergency and really needed him, he was not there for me, he would not see me or take my calls. He would have his receptionist call me back and tell me to up my dosage of a particular medication. Extremely inappropriate and does not care for the people he sees. I highly DO NOT recommend him.

every time I go for my appointment I have to wait for his Nurse P to come in and its at least 35 minutes to 50 minutes to see her. And it puts my driver behind to go to work. And the Nurse P is never their on time for my appointment, I always have to wait for her. She is a poor excuse for a Nurse P

If you have concern with a child after a traumatic event on the child. This is the last person who should see the child. He prescribes drug cocktails that really hinder the child's growth and developmental progress. Risperdal + Prozac for depression. Extremely harmful cocktail for a 12 yr. old. Parent wanted the child on the drugs and got it in less then 10 mins.
