I have been seeing Dr Dooner for 19 years.There are not enough stars to show my true admiration and trust for this man.He is kind caring and makes me laugh with his wit.He certainly has saved my vision.I must visit regularly, and although the procedure is a bit uncomfortable, it is worth the short lived discomfort to still have vision and to interact with Dr Dooner and his wonderful staff.

I have been a patient with Austin Retina under Dr. James Dooner’s care for the last few years and I cannot say enough good things about it. I had a stroke and was having problems with my vision and I was petrified at the thought of losing my vision. Dr. Dooner and his staff have gone above and beyond what any other doctor has done for me. Ease of scheduling and compassionate care keep me coming back and I recommend him to anyone who needs eye care. Dr. Dooner always takes his time to explain procedures and keeps me informed about the status of my eye health. I never feel like I get lost in the shuffle of patients and feel like I’m being taken care of by a friend. He is qualified, thorough, and he and his staff always make me feel welcome.

I have been seeing Dr. Dooner for several years to treat the effects of wet macular degeneration and he has successfully arrested the progression and saved the sight in the affected eye. Unfortunately the initial impact cannot be reversed but he has kept the remaining vision unchanged for which I am very grateful.

Dr.Dooner is very thoro and makes my daughter feel safe and secure about her eye surgies we would recomend him to anyone

Dr. Dooner accommodated me after my ophthalmologist found an anomaly with my retina on a routine eye exam. His office was highly professional, caring, and spent additional time explaining my circumstance. Dr. Dooner approached my case with concern and a bit of humor that helped ease my obvious nervousness. I highly recommend him to anyone facing a similar concern.

dooner is curt and not informative during the exam. The wait times are exceedingly long. I had to wait two hours without any explanation of why.

He seems to be confident, but maybe too much? I didn't feel he listened very closely - he mainly wanted to tell me the results of tests and move on.
