Dr. James Andrew Dugan, MD

I understand the time is short but in my view is to get you to proper setting for the right treatment. He is short worded but remember you are not the only patient. Patient should participate in there treatment. The doctor can't do it all. Thanks Dr. Dugan my surgery went well with your recommendation to IU health.

Went in for a Vasectomy. Very professional staff and Dr. Dugan was quick and had a good bedside manner. Would recommend anyone go to home for this procedure!

I have found Dr. Dugan to be very thorough - he can be a man of few words but being a two time cancer survivor I will take thoroughness over chitchat any day. He is timely and I do recommend future patients have their questions prepared to ask him. I have been very pleased with his care.

He made me feel so at ease. Took his time and explained things well.

I have has some kidney issues which have been addressed on 2 occasions by Dr. Dugan, both requiring surgical procedures. While the nurse in the Indianapolis office has very poor communication or "bedside manner" skills, Dr. Dugan is excellent. I am rating the DOCTOR. If necessary, I will tolerate his nurse again, because Dr. Dugan is the best and my life is in HIS hands not in those of his nurse.

Office Staff was belittling regarding my 'apparent nervousness' about my appointment - for a prostate biopsy. What else am I supposed to be? Then, I had to schedule an appt to get the results. When Dr. Dugan walked in the room, he sat down and began reading the biopsy report in front of me. It took him three or four LONG, AGONIZING minutes to finally say 'No Cancer.'

He has been treating me for over 7 years and the results have been great. From initial diagnosis to surgery to ongoing treatment I have received what I consider excellent care.

I had a very disturbing experience when the nurse, before I had even seen or spoken with Dr Dugan, just came in and catheterized me. I had never had that procedure before and was never told why I needed it that day. I find it highly irregular for such an invasive procedure to be done (by the nurse) without ever having seen the doctor that day and without explanation. I get the feeling the office is used to dealing with elderly male patients whom do not ask questions as well as the fact that they are understaffed. The doctor's demeanor is a bit smarmy for my liking.

I loved the way everything went so smoothly. From the point of my arrival to when my appointment ended, I was always treated with care. Dr. Dugan does fantastic work and I would recommend him to my own friends and family.

He's OK but his assistant for many years which I don't how she keeps her job. She is every thing wrong for a situation when someone needs that type of care. She makes you feel as low as it goes when your needing a friend not a witch that is out for you. She has lied to my Pharmacy saying I had changed my dosage for my own prescriptions and says that I yell at her every time I call for something wrong between her and then pharmacy. I considered him a friend at first but she has driven the nail in my back the last time.
