Dr. James A. Eastham, MD

Dr. Eastham did my prostatectomy after I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Not only is he an incredibly skilled surgeon, he's also one of those rare professionals who WANTS to take the time to connect with his patients, make them understand everything that's happening, and give them a really good feeling about the person behind their care. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found him. He is who the American Medical Association should use to promote the profession.

Dr J Eastham is an amazing talent - probably best in field! I recently had a salvage radical prostatectomy with hernia repair. I was very impressed with MSK and particularly Dr Eastham. very kind man, excellent surgeon I highly recommend him for robotic prostatectomy.

1 year anniversary of Prostate Surgery All is Great. No complications No incontinence. Dr Eastham explained all aspects of surgery gave me alternative choices and made things very easy. Recovery was quick with no pain. Back to normal in a few weeks. He was extremely professional but still easy going and caring. Don’t hesitate taking his advice

The man is a rock-star when it comes to expertise and bedside manner and is one of the reasons that Sloan Kettering has a world renowned reputation. Getting a prostate cancer diagnosis is stressful and anxiety-provoking enough but having Dr. Eastham as your doctor will help relieve part of that knowing you are in the best hands possible. I would give him more stars if possible...he's that good!

I have never been treated so poorly by a surgeon. As a patient with cancer I would expect the surgeon to see me in the preoperative area before my surgery to assure me that I was going to be in good hands. He did no such thing. After a four hour procedure, I would expect the surgeon to come see me to go over his findings as well as the outcome. He did no such thing. My first post operative visit to see him was scheduled at six months post -operatively. When I had a serious post operative problem and needed help, he was dismissive and uncaring. He has never called me, despite knowing that I have had four post operative surgeries for complications that arose because of his surgery. My outcome and quality of life have been dismal since my surgery two years ago.

I am so happy I was referred to Dr. James Eastham. He honestly and accurately described the procedure and outlined the potential side effects. The radical robotic prostatectomy went according to plan. The pain was minimal and I was able to use only Ibuprofen to relieve the discomfort. His staff was great and always available pre and post surgery to thoroughly explain things in great detail. I was back to work in 3 weeks. I am so lucky I chose this extraordinary surgeon who was able to use his magical hands to save my life.
