Dr. James Austin Edison, MD

I visited with Dr. James Edison two times. I have had chronic abdominal pain, many times so severe I thought I would die, so my PCP referred me to Ohio Gastro. Dr. Edison walked in the room, asked me what was going on, then began talking over me right away. He ordered and X-Ray and told me to come back once it was completed. I had the X-Ray done, hoping to get some answers. When I returned, he walked in the room and asked "How you been?". I told him it's getting worse, Cancer runs in my family and the pain is now in my sides, my back, under my rib and down my right groin area. He turned around and said, "If true, why did your X-Ray come back normal?" I told him I have no idea why it would. He asked "Do you want another X-Ray?" I told him no, what would be the point of that. He then said try Mira lax and left the room. After about 5 - 10 minutes I opened the door to see a nurse standing in the hall. I asked her is that it? He's moved on? She said yes, and she would be right in. I… told her I had questions and more information I wanted to talk to him about. She told me I'd have to book another appointment. Dr. Edison was in the room with me no less than 90 seconds on each visit. I have wasted time, money and my health on this doctor. I have set up an appointment with another Gastro doctor that has ordered a Colonoscopy, a scope and other imaging after a thorough exam. Please do not waste your time as I did, not once, but twice.

Didn't take the time to review my history, or didn't take the time to listen to my concerns and problems.

I made the appointment for a Colonoscopy with this physician a was told this was a preventative procedure even though it had been three years since my last. Now that it is over they turned it in as a procedure and not as preventative and I was told they would not change it which leaves me responsible for the entire bill. When I arrived for the procedure I was in the room for over 45 minutes (after my scheduled time) before I went back. The only follow up I received was a voice mail asking if I was having any issues and not to call back if I wasn't.
