Dr. James Nesman Elia, DO

Medical malpractice happens on Elia's watch. A patient goes in for a medical emergency, and Elia violates their basic, human rights (especially as a patient), or allows them to be violated. Rather than protecting patients from harm, Elia and his accomplices restrain patients for having valid concerns, the academic expertise to articulate them, and even the slightest amount of self efficacy to advocate for themselves. A colleague who refused to identify herself when she was caught gaslighting someone ready for discharge, just to hold him longer than he needed for competent treatment, called security on someone who did just this. This had resulted in illegal restraints and a forced injection that caused lasting legpain, followed by a trip to a psychiatric hospital, which no amount of friendliness or institutional courage can legalize. The suspect even let the patient go without a shower until after he was further kidnapped, and taken to the facility. The authorities are looking into it.
